jwcolour Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I wouldn't be so depressed except fo the fact that TWICE this team had a 2 goal lead and let the B's get within one about a minute or so later! That is what frustrates me! Well its a good thing you didn't know yahoo.com was broadcasting it cause it was too ugly to watch. Where in Illinois are you exiled in?
Claude Balls Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Man, I haven't thrown up so much in the past few weeks since I quit drinking.      On the bright side, Sabres play next 5 of 6 at home. By theory, we can get pretty hot. lol Man, that's a lot of booing.
Chief Enabler Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Golisano should go to Capital Hill for some bailout money tomorrow....   This team sucks!
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I am just "watching" in RealTime online... I can't see it... Was Miller that bad from especially far out? I'd say Miller completely owns 2 or 3 goals (i.e., softies), the D completely owns 2 or 3 (i.e., nothing Miller could do) and the rest were a group effort.
FogBat Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Sekera nearly tripped over his own skates on that last goal.....then stood and watched the Bs score. I am about ready to not renew both the NFL Direct Ticket & NHL Center Ice.....a total waste of my money & time. Haven't followed the Bills seriously for awhile now, so I didn't lose any money on the former. However, I am losing money on the latter. I'd be willing to bet that these guys could have beaten the Sabres tonight.
Bmwolf21 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I appreciate it wolf. I think my post that I made the link for the bleacherreport was good. But that's a matter of opinion. Look it up if you care. Was that the Connolly/$3M mistake article? I did see that while at work today but didn't get a chance to read the whole thing. But what I skimmed seemed dead on.
Corp000085 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 What an utter embarrassment this entire week has been so far. I can handle the loss. What I can't handle is the complete lack of fire. I'm going to stand by Lindy Ruff in this case. IMO, he's the only untouchable within the organization. Darcy must either make a roster move ASAP or he should be the one packing. Send a message that this is intolerable. Darcy, sit down with lindy, ask him who should be gone, and move whomever lindy says. Move them for a bag of pucks. Trade afinogenov for "future considerations". Cut connolly. Do whatever, just do something, or else Tom Golisano and Larry Quinn, you're on the clock to can Darcy. Period.
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Well its a good thing you didn't know yahoo.com was broadcasting it cause it was too ugly to watch. Where in Illinois are you exiled in? I am in Chicago (south)... I am waiting for the Adobe upgrade at work... :chris: Better yet, I should just use my laptop and wireless connection! I can't stomach this crap! I know I will be flamed a littel... Again, I draw my ire towards Lindy and Miller... WTF is up? Coaching is so important in this game... Something isn't right...
FogBat Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 On the bright side, Sabres play next 5 of 6 at home. By theory, we can get pretty hot. lol In practice, we've been awfully cold as of late. Just like Communism.
Eleven Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I am just "watching" in RealTime online... I can't see it... Was Miller that bad from especially far out? ?? He was horrible in the first, but any time an away goalie lets in 6 during 2 periods, the crowd's going to get on him. Since we're Sabres fans who have been blessed with incredible goaltending during the team's existence, we haven't heard it often.
Knightrider Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Wow, I was going to quickly unpin this, hoping against all hopes this thread would sink into oblivion. Corp must've beat me. It was 4-3 and I thought, I almost hope they lose this, because they can't play like this anymore.

We had a 2 goal lead twice with a better than average goaltender in there. They (BOS) start their number 2... We should have had them on the ropes!

ROC Sabres Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Was that the Connolly/$3M mistake article? I did see that while at work today but didn't get a chance to read the whole thing. But what I skimmed seemed dead on. Yep, that was the one.
shrader Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I can't believe that it's November and I'm giving up on Buffalo sports already. Until they actually start caring, I'm done. I've never seen a team quit like they did tonight. Enjoy your shrader-free board for a while. I'm stressed enough already and watching an "effort" like this really doesn't help.
Guest Sloth Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 What happend to the Sabres semi-conservative, smart play from the beginning of the season? Buffalo started out red hot, but they've sucked ever since. Analyst were talking about how good the Sabres were at keeping the other teams quality scoring chances low. Obviously Buffalo turned a 180 on that one. The Sabres have turned into a deer in headlights. If this continues, it's going to be a short season; meaning the Sabres will be out of the playoff race early... Play Lalime 5 games in a row. I don't care what his record is. Miller needs to be woken up. The guy looked like a fish out of water tonight!
wonderbread Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 True that and raise you Miller is due for that lights out nothing gets by him game.... :chris: I'd bench him for the next 3 games in a row for that piss poor preformance tonight. there I said it. I wish I didn't have either effen package football or hockeyy now I have to watch this crap for the rest of the respective seasons!
FogBat Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I am almost at my limit with how much more I can take of dealing with lousy sports products coming out of Buffalo. The only thing that appears to be worthwhile anymore from my hometown is New Era.
Eleven Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Yep, that was the one. I want to read it but can't find your post; would you mind re-posting it here?
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Anyone want a ray of sunshine? :nana: Look... We would all say that the Rangers are playing very, very well, right... Okay... Okay... What do the Rump Rangers have to do with this? Well let me explain... They are playing well, right? The Sabres have 3 games in hand and are 9 points behind. I spoke to soon... The Rangers just scored to make it 5-3 against the 'Nucks! But... There is sunshine if they lose in reg! To quote my Hannah Montana: "Everybody makes mistakes, everybody has those days." Boy... You guys probably wish I never started posting here again! :nana:

LabattBlue Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Game thoughts... - Four very nice goals by the Sabres in the 1st. -No commitment to back checking by the Sabres especially in the first. -Instead of being benched for the rest of the period, Tallinder should have been told to take a shower and head to the press box. That pass was so much worse than TERRIBLE that I can't even describe it. -Miller overplayed the shooter on the first goal, did not have the near side covered on the flutter shot from the right boards, was playing with himself on the goal from behind the net and just sliding on the ice on the last one. I counted at least two arm wavers by Miller, but I hope everyone caught Mair do a "WTF arm wave" right in front of Miller on the goal from behind the net. That was my highlight of the night. -I can't believe I am saying this, but the defense is actually softer than it was last year. -3-6-1 in the last 10 games. Hey DR, Keep convincing yourself that you have this team this is going to be great in the "new NHL" except for one thing everyone forgot to tell you.... -Weekend started with a horrible loss to Columbus, falling apart in the 3rd against Pittsburgh, the Bills debacle and now this. Once again the only highlights are coming from the Portland Pirates. -Don't look now, but the Sabres have dropped to 7th in the conference and have 3 teams breathing down their neck only 3 points behind. -Trade needed NOW. Mancari & Weber called up NOW. Paetsch in the lineup NOW. Connolly put on waivers NOW. -I am so pissed I don't even want to go to the game on Friday.

Oh, wait... That only leave us in Southern Ontario! :wallbash:
bottlecap Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I wonder how much of Miller's problems seeing the puck is that he's slightly cross-eyed. The D-fense of course isn't cross-eyed but they have serious problems of their own. After the Bruins were let back into the game, the Sabres looked like they did against St. Louis when they were trying to tie things up. Very loose defense and very confused and uncomposed.
