carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 The last time that I posted this graph was at the 8-game mark: You see what's happened since. I'm hoping that posting it now will have the opposite effect.
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Things are pretty bad when a lot of diehards simply can't take it anymore and need to step away for a little bit. Hey BM... I am stepping in! :D :D Here is some good news in a way: (WARNING: NOT SO SUBLIMINAL MESSAGE INCLUDED) 15 Ottawa Senators 18 6 9 3 15 42 47 3-5-1 3-4-2 4-4-2 Not so subliminal message: We can't beat OTT!

Now you will have my heart pounding more before and during a game! Damn you! Damn you!
Buffalo Fan Posted November 20, 2008 Author Report Posted November 20, 2008 Never started one of these, so I hope you'll endulge me by letting be start it a little early. I think Boston is the real deal. If Buffalo had half their toughness, I think the Sabres would be the team to beat in the NE. We'll see how they fair....LET's GO BUFFALO!! note to self: NO MORE EARLY GDT's!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bmwolf21 Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 I'm not letting them off that easy. I'm not going anywhere. :D  I'll be around as well, just not letting myself get as emotionally invested for the next little while. I need time to heal.... :death:
ExiledInIllinois Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Saw a similar graph out of New York...some player named Dow or Jones or something...can we sign him? The good thing about carp's graph is that it can't go down! It only painfully goes horizontal or "flat lines." Anybody have a defibrillator? <_<
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 That is a good one carp! I keep on thinking I am watching the Price Is Right and that little mountain climber game... Now you will have my heart pounding more before and during a game! Damn you! Damn you! Oops, posted the wrong one. That one just keeps going up, but I find this one more telling: This is points net of a 94 point (roughly playoff) pace. A little less uphill.
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 note to self: NO MORE EARLY GDT's!!!!!!!!!!!!!! What did I say?! TOO EARLY!!! TOO EARLY!!! Don't worry, I don't think starting the GDT at the opening faceoff would have helped tonight.
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 The good thing about carp's graph is that it can't go down! It only painfully goes horizontal or "flat lines." Oh yeah, look what I was posting when you wrote this. ;)

I am using it aa a term of endearment)... You are putting my Zen to a test! Where the phuck do you come up with this!
Stoner Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Nobody's going anywhere. Puh-lease. Screw Camus, I'll quote another philosopher, Billy Joel: She cuts you once, she cuts you twice But still you believe The wound is so fresh you can taste the blood But you don't have strength to leave
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Where the phuck do you come up with this! I started this last year to see how we were looking mid-season. That 34 game mark was encouraging since we finally crossed into the playoff realm ... and then fell right off of it again. We're looking like we're going to cross it the other way soon. Hopefully, we'll bounce back, too.

PA (aka: Grumpy 'Ole Bastard) coming in... I am in! Go Sabres: Climb That Mountain!

ExiledInIllinois Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 could you find a way to put 05-06 on that graph? <_< We got a wise guy!
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 could you find a way to put 05-06 on that graph? When I get a chance, I'll add it. _____________ Wow, in watching the replay, the Rangers looked like us tonight.
darksabre Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 <_< We got a wise guy! lol no really, I want to see how it compares. I feel like we started off slow that year too and then made a december push.

Uh? Really? That is the year after the lockout they came fast out of the gate and won the first 10 to set and tie the record. You don't remember?... The one thing I am not sure about is the idea that Lindy's team brings a Nov. slump... Or as I like to say... A "cold November rain." Maybe I am being dramatic... Last year, monthly... They were basically a .500 team... They did have one good month I think? They are falling back to the mean.
wonderbread Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Someone, quickly, with the Camus again, please... here you go boys a little inspiration as well. "Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken." Does this sum it up for us?
carpandean Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Uh? Really? That is the year after the lockout they came fast out of the gate and won the first 10 to set and tie the record. That was 2006-07, the second season after the lockout. He's talking about 2005-06, the first year out. Looked like this:
darksabre Posted November 20, 2008 Report Posted November 20, 2008 Wow, look at that. How similar are we to 05-06 right now? See boys, things are right in line to get better!
