LabattBlue Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 In your first 9 home games, you lose 3 ONE SIDED games. One team is a complete joke(Tampa) and two others(Columbus and Ottawa) that appear to be nothing more than middle of the pack. In addition, you lose in a shootout to Atlanta, a team that will probably not make the playoffs. Fans tend to not want to open up their wallets again when the entertainment value is ZERO. After tonight, Portland doesn't play until next Friday. If the Sabres play poorly tonight in a losing effort, I call up 3 players from Portland(pick'em...Gerbe, Mancari, Butler, Weber, Kennedy, Darche??), have them here for practice on Sunday and sit down some of the stars(anyone is fair game at this point including Roy, Pominville & Vanek) for the game against Boston on Wednesday. They can then go back down after the Boston game. I know Darcy would never do this, but if the Sabres lose to Pittsburgh and Boston, the roster on Friday should be altered by at least one player via trade come Friday.

As an aside to this, I don't know what it is but the Sabres have been pretty bad at home for a while now. They always come out slow and in the past were good enough to still win. I thinks it all the wings and pizza.

Not to nitpick, but the only way this can even happen (without exposing anyone to waivers) would be to send Kaleta and Sekera down, and place Kotalik on IR (assuming he's got a bad hammy.) Otherwise, they don't even have three slots for those call-ups.
rbochan Posted November 15, 2008 Report Posted November 15, 2008 I'll tell you what... If I did MY job as poorly as these multi-million-dollar-pansies-in-Sabres-uniforms do, I'd expect to be handed my pink slip. Cripes, I'd hand it to myself. I turned off the game with 5 minutes left in the first period last night because I was convinced someone put a peewee team on the ice dressed in Sabres uniforms and I was flat out disgusted. Excuses are irrelevant. These guys are being paid multi-million dollar contracts to do a job, and they aren't doing it. What do they think they are... government workers? It's to the point of being pathetic. I'm really glad I didn't waste money on tickets and drive all the way to Buffalo. The "team" that's been [not] showing up lately just isn't worth it. :censored:

Do you leave each day with a win or a loss? PASabreFan immediately regrets replying to this.

I'm not sure which board I posted in on (I'm just so ticked I've confused myself!! :wallbash: ) but I'm thinking if I were Lindy that I would completely change their home game routine because you are right - they have played bad at home for at least 3 years as I remember it. Not so bad as to have a losing record there, but certainly bad enough to piss off their fans. They do seem to ALWAYS start slow at home, and then play stupid the rest of the game. Again, I would change their routine big time. Maybe he should actually practice them for 30 right before game warm-ups since it seems to take them that long to get their legs under them.
