wildcat48 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Mancari working for the future Portland, ME ? Mark Mancari is a man on a mission this season and nothing will get in his way from trying to reach the goal he set in the off-season. To wear the blue and gold of the Buffalo Sabres, and if he keeps playing the way he has over the early part of the season, Mancari may not be long from finally reaching his goal. In the meantime, he?s more than happy to wear the black and red of the Portland Pirates. Link>>>>>
inkman Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 One has to ask, how much is he benefiting from playing with Gerbe and Kennedy?
nfreeman Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I haven't seen any of the Pirates games yet, so I don't have much to add, other than Lindy has said a couple of times that Mancari is 1st in line to get called up.
Claude Balls Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 One has to ask, how much is he benefiting from playing with Gerbe and Kennedy? I would say quite a bit. Last year he led the Amerks with 57 points in 80 games. Clarke MacArthur had 42 points in 43 games. Mancari's best skill is the 102 mph slap shot he can generate. That's nearing Al Iafrate territory.
frisky Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I think perhaps not this season, but, he may be prime to move up full-time next year filling a sopt vacated by one of the UFA forwards (Timmy, Max, Al).
LabattBlue Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 If Dave Andreychuk could make a Hall of Fame career out of being slow, soft and having a good shot(Mancari traits), I don't know why Mancari shouldn't have a shot at being a 3rd line forward at the NHL level for 5+ years.
