Ellis looking for stability with the Pirates

Portland, ME ? For 24 hours Matt Ellis had to put his life on hold, but it?s not the first time he?s had to wait for the phone to ring, telling him where the next stop in his hockey journey will take him.

This time it took him to Portland, Maine. A little seaside city who is known more for its Old Port than the working waterfront it represents. However, don?t expect Ellis to complain because he won?t. He?s actually very relieved that he?s in Portland, playing for one of the top teams in the AHL.

Good for Ellis, he sounds happy to be settled for a while. Seems a bit of the rock star on tour bit.

and, Gragnani back on Defense eh? How's he feel about that?

I know I'm a broken record on this, but unless Gragnani has done a 180 in terms of learning how to play defense, put him at forward and be done with it. I am sure he is behind Weber and Butler(and maybe even Funk) in terms of call-up pecking order for the blueline, and then there is Brennan, Schiestel & Myers not far behind in juniors.

The thing that bothers me is that he put up decent numbers at forward last year after he was moved from the blueline.

I'm off my soapbox now.
