Knightrider Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Was it a head injury? My guess is shoulder...
SwampD Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Was it a head injury? If i had to guess. He took a pretty good jolt from Tchctchutchctcuck.
LabattBlue Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Game thoughts... -How many times does Lindy need to bench Max before Darcy gets it through his head that Lindy does not want Max on the team? -Get Kotalik off the top line. He sucked from start to finish. Makes a dumb pass in the first period when he is in point blank on the goalie and a giveaway on the 3rd Blues goal. -Connolly with a nice game. Please tell me he is not hurt badly. -Vanek should have had a hat trick tonight! -Miller needs to get off his knees sometimes when the puck is behind the net. He is like a kid playing knee hockey with mini-sticks. -Sabres could have had 6 goals during the free for all when the Blues acted like they never played the game before. -Good win, but a disappointing final score after the 3-0 lead. -Mason was very good for the Blues! GO SABRES!!!
R_Dudley Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Rivet looks very slow today. Not just that but he wasn't policing the the stuff in the crease tonight like he was earlier in the season, must not be 100% yet or something Good win. Yeah any win is a good win but some things still do not not look good, 1.) Miller's not looking real strong, Ink might have a field day with this but Miller was dropping on knee's way to early on allot of shots and looked slow following the puck around the back of the net out the other side. 2.) This team just never responds when another team takes the body to them they were outhit by huge margin and somebody should have done something back about that shoulder into connolly's head, he was ta-chucked. 3.)This team just doesn't know when to just dump the puck and chase it into the zone (like when your in the lead) instead of these crazy cross ice passes at the blue line instead of just getting it deep and crashing the net. That said good to get the win, now I need some medication to take the edge off....Later
Hawerchuk Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 I have to say this: Harry Neal is a idiot. He calls the game "a difficult mountain to climb for the Blues" with 13 mins to go in the 3rd. Sabres were up by 2, but about 2 mins later, St Louis gets one to make it 4-3. Will somebody tell him that the game isn't over until it reads 0:00 on the damn clock. Man, that pisses me off about him. He's done this on many games in the past too. Freakin tool!! I miss Lorentz immensely. But on the lighter side.... A regulation win and 2pts. Way to hold it together. Miller made some very good saves all game.

I'm getting worried about the hit margin too. Sabres have been getting pummeled in this category the last three games. We have plenty of bangers, whats the deal??

But if our offense would have put in all those goals that they should have(Roy...post, Vanek...open net...twice, The General...open net) we would have said,"7-3, what a great win?" On a side note, the Blue's third goal by West Seneca's own Sleestack was just a pretty goal.
LabattBlue Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Tinman...bruised upper body per Lindy :wallbash:
bleedblueandgold Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Did anyone hear the pre-game interview with the Blues coach? He was referencing the strategy against the Sabres saying they know they have to take the body hard against Buffalo...seems like word is spreading that teams will start trying to push us around.....

I do like him though. But that does piss me off also
DonInBuffalo Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 from Lindy's press conference: - Peters is fine. Ruff said they could have put in back in but thought his arms might be too tired. :) - Connelly has "bruised upper body". Doesn't sound particularly serious. - Max was benched basically because he was giving the puck away too much. Vanek "lost some shifts" near the end of the game for the same reason.
cilevel Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 It's really quite amazing isn't it? You've gotta admit though, he REALLY got drilled on that hit. Brought back bad memories from the Ottawa series. I was surprised when he came back to play on the power play. Seriously, though, I really hope they were just playing it safe and he is able to get right back at it on Friday. Lofty or not, this is what I hope for.
Spudz Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 -Miller needs to get off his knees sometimes when the puck is behind the net. He is like a kid playing knee hockey with mini-sticks. That little girl is going to get PWNED!
Stoner Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Game thoughts... -Miller needs to get off his knees sometimes when the puck is behind the net. He is like a kid playing knee hockey with mini-sticks. Remember when I brought this up over the summer? The consensus seemed to be this is standard goalie technique and something Corsi teaches. It drives me nuts. I don't really see other goalies doing it. Miller's always been susceptible to shots from the side of the net. If Hecht played against him every night, he'd score 50 goals. Yeah, something is not right with Miller. Another 24 straight starts, and he should have it all worked out.
Claude Balls Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Peters stats - fight time 2:10, ice time 1:26 Awesome!
LabattBlue Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 That little girl is going to get PWNED!
cilevel Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Tinman...bruised upper body per Lindy :wallbash: Better bruised than broken!
bottlecap Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 miller and the d seemed to be imitating the loosey goosey style of the blues. I saw lots of panic and not much discipline when I was watching. Not Much Confidence here!
bob_sauve28 Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Tinman...bruised upper body per Lindy :wallbash: Ya, probably did it on purpose  In other news, Man cheers the fact he has cancer :censored:
wonderbread Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 How long until the "Timmy's hurt again" thread rears its ugly head?
Claude Balls Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Did anyone hear the pre-game interview with the Blues coach? He was referencing the strategy against the Sabres saying they know they have to take the body hard against Buffalo...seems like word is spreading that teams will start trying to push us around..... I was watching saying to myself, St. Louis finishes their checks. After any Sabres player dumps the puck off, they still get blasted into the boards. When the Blues players would pass the puck off, it seems all the Sabres players would pull up and start chasing the play instead of taking the body and punishing the player. As for Connolly......he is The Scarecrow, he is made of straw. I bet he gets hurt from being constipated and pushing too hard. As for Max.....I bet we do not see him next game. As for Peters.....no one can say he is worthless anymore. No matter what anyone thinks, the guy fires this team up when they need a boot in the arse.
carpandean Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 All I have to say is last year we lost those games. Ended closer than I wanted, but it's a step in the right direction.
LabattBlue Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 Ya, probably did it on purpose  What's your point? The guy can't stay healthy.
inkman Posted November 13, 2008 Report Posted November 13, 2008 ...seems like word is spreading that teams will start trying to push us around..... That book has been out for a while now...

I hate to sound like a Jack-Ass, but Tim Connolly is the man. I told you guys so. If he could just stay healthy, he'd be one best players in the league. OOOOOPPPS! :death:
