Buffalo Fan Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 I think the Sabres will bounce back, but man, the Bills look pitiful... How on earth did they look so good in the first 4 weeks and so bad in the last 4? What happened to that offensive line????!!!!! I'm a lesser man because I don't have all the cable and satalite options, but man they look horrible. and as for the Sabres, what a jeckel and hide team. they go from letting in 10 goals in 2 games to zero goals in 2 games to looking disinterested in 2 games. How about some consistancy!!! Every time I get comfortable in saying, "yeah, the Sabres will contend this year" they go and lay a couple of eggs. BEAT THE TEAMS YOU SHOULD BEAT, KEEP CLOSE THE ONES YOU SHOULDN't and you'll come out ok...how about some consistancy from the SABRES AND BILLS!!!!!!!
DR HOLLIDAY Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 They crapped up the weekend thats for sure.........
Supersabre Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Still gotta love them.......
DR HOLLIDAY Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Still gotta love them....... Well there is always next weekend........
FogBat Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Still gotta love them....... I try not to get my hopes up with them. After all, they don't determine my destiny.
bigtalljoe Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Well there is always next weekend........ Next week, next game, next year, i truly think sports fans are masochists, dont you almost have to be?
FogBat Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Next week, next game, next year, i truly think sports fans are masochists, dont you almost have to be? Then again, we could always give up on sports altogether if we don't want to punish ourselves any further.
DR HOLLIDAY Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Next week, next game, next year, i truly think sports fans are masochists, dont you almost have to be? Well it is time away from the wife, so it can't be all that bad...........
bigtalljoe Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 Well it is time away from the wife, so it can't be all that bad........... True!...... But it does suck when the games over and your on the losing side, and as a sports fan, your teams will always lose more then they win, but you have to accept that. But when you do win, it makes it that much sweeter. So just think when the Bills, and Sabres win championships how much more it will mean to us then it will for alot of other fans!
Claude Balls Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 True!...... But it does suck when the games over and your on the losing side, and as a sports fan, your teams will always lose more then they win, but you have to accept that. Unfortunately I don't think many of us here will be around to see this happen. The Bills might win a SB, but they will be in a different city most likely. Life as a Buffalo sports fan can rip your heart out.

The Bills might win a SB, but they will be in a different city most likely. Life as a Buffalo sports fan can rip your heart out. I don't know about this. I never thought I would see the Red Sox win a Worlds Series let alone two. And, this country was able to get past it's prejudices and elect a Black American President. Nothing is truly impossible.

OAK, STL & SEA all blow. SD and JAX are not very good either. They pulled the wool over our sports loving eyes. When the task was to beat good teams they wilted. Imagine having TEN, NYG, PHI or PIT on the reg season schedule this season?! Fuuuuugetaboutit. I see them getting 3 more wins for another 8-8. BRUTAL :death:

You see the Bills or Sabres ever spending the coin for the superstars like the Red Sox did though? I don't in the near future anyways. We can hope someone buys the Bills, keeps them here and isn't ascared to open the wallet. I was glad to see Obama get elected, but I think the bigger surprise will be if he makes it 4 years without some crazy supremacist psycho trying to shoot him. Hell, it's already happened once or twice.
darksabre Posted November 10, 2008 Report Posted November 10, 2008 After the win against the Chargers I told all my friends to come and see me in three weeks. Now I get to say I told you so.

Yeah, you said it... what a terrible turn around. That's one reason I'm probably more of a Hockey fan. If you have a bad 3 or 4 game stretch, it doesn't so much kill your season.

And, this country was able to get past it's prejudices and elect a Black American President. Nothing is truly impossible. Please don't compare a long overdue World Series winner (sporting event) to to election of an American of mixed descent (white mother/Kenyan father). ...(politics). The 2 events have no correlation, since the Sox didn't have to overcome any "prejudice", right? I thought Barack's ascendancy and coronation as Prez-elect was not about the color of his skin, but on his marketing campaign.....err, oops, talents & fundraising? Another thought - keep the politicking where it belongs.....in another thread, entitled "Political Discussion"....I think you know where to find that....

carpandean Posted November 12, 2008 Report Posted November 12, 2008 an American of mixed descent (white mother/Kenyan father). Not trying to extend any political discussion (that's why I made that other thread), but from a sociological standpoint, this brings up an interesting question. I understand your point and have even (jokingly) pointed it out to others. However, is a person "black" and, therefore, subject to certain prejudices in our society, because (a) he/she has darker skin tone, or (b) he/she is of African decent? My answer would tend to be (a), which would mean that your point is actually immaterial (unless you are saying his skin tone is halfway between.) In fact, if Barak had taken on more of the exterior genetic characteristics of his mother's family, including lighter skin tone, I wonder if they would still have called him the first "black president". /sociology

What I don't understand is why they gave Jauron a contract extension, and then the Bills start to fall apart.
