jayg Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 For the video they had, it was the right call.
wjag Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 For the video they had, it was the right call. No way you could call that a goal... Nice play by Hedberg..
jayg Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 yahoo showed the montreal game as a final, montreal scores at 19:19 of the third. They are in a shootout now. Ottawa loses in Carolina and Montreal drops a home came to Columbus... Bonus!!!
shrader Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I just wish they had the same cameras available for every game. A goal game may have been very helpful there.

Saudi Arabia Rob Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 It definitely nice to see Kotalik using his body more and more. He's had a number of decent hits. What a difference when he works during the game and doesn't just ride along. Sabres seem to be standing around a bit in their own zone in the 3rd.

wjag Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I guess a point is a point.. Not one of their better games...
FogBat Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I guess a point is a point.. Not one of their better games... I know this goes without saying, but they need 2.
Chief Enabler Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 that looked like diving from the back angle.... oh well its over
wjag Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 OT 4 on 3 Roy in the box And there it is.. Williams top shelfed it... He has been a pain all night Buffalo:     Thrashers: :death: :death: :death: :death: :death:
jayg Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Friggin Atlanta! Remind to skip these games. UGH!
TheMadCap Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Why do we all ways lose to this crap team?
FogBat Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 that looked like diving from the back angle.... oh well its over Talk about making a self-fulfilling prophecy come true.
thesportsbuff Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 good thing Miller played good tonight!
el_Polako Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Simply gave up WAY too many goals... it happens, i don't know why it always happens vs weak teams but oh well. Max was mad!! Vanek adds to his tally and in the end we still get a point. Not all is lost.
Knightrider Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Is it my imagination, or has Connolly significantly improved on faceoffs?
McJeff215 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Why do we all ways lose to this crap team? Not only did we lose, we gave up *5* goals in the process. I don't understand it, either. I'd have to go back and look at W/L, but it seems that except for a couple blowout losses on their part, they've consistently played good against us. We got a point (though home games against bottom of the barrel junk are supposed to earn you two). Bring on Boston. The worst part about tonight's game is that I put up with the craptacular Atlanta announcers and we only got a point out of it. That's like putting up with a chick flick and only getting a kiss.
SabresFan526 Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 What a sloppy game by the Sabres all night. Yeah, a point is a point, but this should have been a win, and that too in regulation. First, Miller was awful tonight. He did not have rebound control at all and the consequence of that was the game winner by Williams and the second goal for Little off of Kozlov's shot from the right faceoff dot in the second period. Pominville was lousy tonight, especially in the defensive zone. Williams was Pominville's man on the first goal and Pominville does not cover the man or play the puck and stand by idly as Williams puts a clean shot on net to score the first goal, which Miller probably should have had, but definitely Pominville needs to play Williams. Then, on Todd White's goal on the PK, Pominville again does nothing to prevent White from taking the shot on net, another goal that Miller should have made the save on, but Pominville does nothing to prevent the shot from taking place. Miller definitely should have made the save on Little's goal where Lydman would have had the penalty, not sure how that puck gets underneath Miller. Better rebound control by Miller and the second Little goal and game winner by Williams are not scored, and if Pominville makes a play on the man then Williams and White don't score, and Miller has to make the play and can't let the puck get underneath him when his whole body is down on the ice. I thought this was a very poorly played game by Miller and Pominville especially tonight. On the positive, Max gets his first of the year, MacArthur adds another goal, the powerplay is clicking with Connolly getting assists on both PP goals. But, the Sabres gave up too many chances, Miller was not really sharp and did not have rebounds under control, and I'm very disappointed by the overall play of Pominville tonight. For a guy who is a leader and one of our better defensive zone players, he's got to make plays on the man to prevent these shots from getting through and Miller has got to make some of these easier saves. Very disappointing loss even though we get a point out of it.

Better damn win in Boston, and none of this 3 point crap. Defense, was it not our best 6? Was it mentioned that ATL won on Long Island last night as well? Nice B-to-B for those f#$%^^&%^$^#@#$#ers.
SarasotaSabre Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Getting a point vs ATL is like getting a case of blue balls - no satisfaction at all. Why we play down to their level is simply beyond me. Agreed, the keys to this loss were horrible positional play, inability to take the body (Pominville), and horrible rebound control by Miller. I saw this game ending as soon as Kovalchuk wound up to shoot. To make matters worse: living in ATL and watching this crap game, listening to crap ATL announcers....ragging Roy ALL game for embellishing and crying over a tough penalty call against Armstrong, then shouting in glee in OT after the win. The only thing worse is going to a game in ATL in which the Sabes lose.....oops, I've been there too. This sucks. Screw the moral victory of one point - this was lame.
LabattBlue Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 Hey Lindy...STFU about your defensemen not scoring scoring goals. Their job is to PREVENT goals from being scored, which they were doing a good job at until you needed to be quoted in the Buffalo News... http://www.buffalonews.com/489/story/486571.html I have nothing more to say when the team is healthy, at home and they lose to a team that doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of making the playoffs.
carpandean Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I dub this team Jekyll and Hyde. Either they play a disciplined shut-down defensive style or they revert back to last year. I'm hoping that it won't take too many more losses in the latter to convince them that the system works. In a very quick count, I'd guess we are about 7-0-1 in games where we play the new system and 1-2-2 in games that they don't.
Hawerchuk Posted November 8, 2008 Report Posted November 8, 2008 I have nothing more to say when the team is healthy, at home and they lose to a team that doesn't have a snowballs chance in hell of making the playoffs.   Agreed. Should have never lost to that shitbag Thrashers team. SOB! :wallbash:
