Corp000085 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 7:30pm Hecht is back. Connolly is back. I am back in Buffalo for the game! All is well with the world. This is a back to back situation, with the second game being a division opponent, so i think that Lindy may play Lalime. However, it wouldn't shock me if miller got both starts this weekend. The big story though is hecht's return, the line juggling, and the guy who either gets waived or sent to rochester. I think that stafford should be sent down just cause he can. It would send a message, but then again, lindy is a players coach. He'll probably waive ellis. The actual game should be interesting. Atlanta beat the sabres the last time they played, so i could see some revenge served tomorrow. Hope that the 3 day layoff hasn't hurt the team. play like they did in new jersey and all should be well. Cya at the game. PM me if you want to meet up and get a beer. edit: I guess if i'm going to have the thread open at a specific time, i should hide it till then! Anyhow, its open now.
darksabre Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I think we see Miller both nights. Go Sabres!
carpandean Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 So, wait, is the bad luck thing with GDTs "24 hours before" or "day of"?
Corp000085 Posted November 7, 2008 Author Report Posted November 7, 2008 So, wait, is the bad luck thing with GDTs "24 hours before" or "day of"? I have always gone with the 24 hour rule. I wanted to make the thread and have it open at midnight to fulfill the day of rule, but i screwed it up, soi just opened it early. I can't post tomorrow morning cause i'm driving to buffalo early. So, you can blame me if we lost tomorrow.

darksabre Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I'm going to blame Tallinder if we lose tomorrow, regardless of how he plays.
Two or less Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I'd say Miller goes tomorrow and Lalime on Saturday. I'll be in Boston this weekend, missing my first Sabres game tomorrow (going to Pirates game in Portland) and then Sabres on Sat and Bills on Sunday. But, i do think Miller plays vs. Atlanta, i don't want to say anything i'll regret later as we learned the other week, but, with a hot goalie in Miller, i think Atlanta game is a VERY win able game. Boston played Tim Thomas tonight, he looked good, but didn't get a shutout. I would suspect they will use Manny Fernandez on Saturday night. That all said, i think getting 3 points from these two games this weekend would be a massive success.
billsrcursed Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I might be wrong here, but can't Hecht play the wing? Is it crazy to think (assuming Stafford gets sent down) that Hecht just slips into the first line with Roy centering? I kinda like the idea of Vanek and Hecht playing together. Hecht puts the puck on the net, and Vanek is one of the best "garbage goal" scorers I've ever seen. Seems like that could work well even though him and Pommers have great chemistry together...... I may be way off here, though.

inkman Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I'm going to blame Tallinder if we lose tomorrow, regardless of how he plays. I like your thinking.
LabattBlue Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 I'll be in Boston this weekend, missing my first Sabres game tomorrow (going to Pirates game in Portland) and then Sabres on Sat and Bills on Sunday. Here's hoping you go 3-0 on the roadie!
Guest Sloth Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 As I've said in the past, I'm not making a prediction on the score. After a 5-1 butt kicking the Sabres were given by Tampa, I thought it was a jinx to predict. A lot of us thought the score would be the other way around in the Tampa game. Give em' all you got tonight Buffalo!

2ForTripping Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 A key to tonight is do not play down to Atlanta , which we have done in the past years.
Claude Balls Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 So who is the official SS whipping boy now, I'm confused. Is it Staff infection or Mr. Hanky? Does anyone know if Peters is playing tonight? We all know if he doesn't Michael Boulton will be running everyone wearing a slug.
bleedblueandgold Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Do we get to see the 3rd Jersey tonight finally?? Anyone know?? I thought it was the 8th...
LabattBlue Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 So who is the official SS whipping boy now, I'm confused. Is it Staff infection or Mr. Hanky? As was pointed out yesterday by a fellow poster, the 3 current members dating back to last year or even earlier are... Kotalik Max Peters It seems like there is grass roots movement to get Stafford sworn in, but he is not there yet. There is also support for The Skill & The Rapist(allegedly).

inkman Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 The Rapist(allegedly). I prefer the name "Swedish Rapist". Come on guys. His nickname should clearly be "Third Man In".
spndnchz Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Defenseman Mathieu Schneider has a hip flexor and won't play, I think he played like half the game time so a nice loss. Atlanta on a two game win streak after losing all but two of their first 11. And yeah, one of those wins was when they beat us. I won't call a score, but the Pigeon nets one.

BetweenThePipes00 Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Do we get to see the 3rd Jersey tonight finally?? Anyone know?? I thought it was the 8th... Hmm, yeah, I thought so too but I would hope they would not debut them on the road ...
shrader Posted November 7, 2008 Report Posted November 7, 2008 Come on guys. His nickname should clearly be "Third Man In". So they went by alphabetical order?
