SDS Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 http://www.njdevs.com/forums/index.php?sho...&start=120# Three final notes: Patrick Kaleta can jump in a grease fire. The same guy who instigates fights and then won't drop his gloves, he totally faked an injury to draw the Clarkson penalty, then tried it again on a later play. Naturally, Versus never gave us a replay of that play - replays of penalties are scarce there.
inkman Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 I was disappointed at how the announcers really down played the importance of who scored the Sabres goal. It's a pretty big deal when Patrick freaking Kaleta scores a tip re-direct goal from 20 feet out. At least that former Flyer Schmo gave him props after the game.
Two or less Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 Agreed Inkman. I was disappointed they didn't make a bigger deal out of it because it was Kaleta. But, i thought Kaleta was great today. His goal. The blocked shot. Early in the first period he had a nice pass and almost tipped in a goal from Paille. The diving blocked shot. And he drew 2 penalties. Kaleta was my #1 star if it wasn't for another shutout by Miller, but still, Kaleta was at his best today. One of the best overall game's he's ever played IMO.
wonderbread Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 I loved when "the Doc' stated that Kaleta was "from right here in Buffalo" Hey Mike your in New Joisey tonight. Get a freaking clue.
inkman Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 One of the best overall game's he's ever played IMO. I wish I could remember who said it, but on Saturday one of the MSG personalities (RJ, Neale, Roby, Ray) stated: "He's just learning how to play hockey." I loved it, and they were right.
Kevbeau Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 "Patrick Kaleta can jump in a grease fire. " Who says stuff like that? I can't decide if it's creative or moronic.
carpandean Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008  I can't decide if it's creative or moronic. You can't? Here's a hint: he's from NJ! ;)
Ohiofan Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 I do like the fact that he is being talked about around the league. When was the last time that we "agitated" any team? Let them wonder and watch over their shoulders. Let them be wary...it might cause them to lose the puck. It might just keep winning us hockey games.
will Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 as long as he doesn't cheap shot anyone (a la tootoo), i'll be happy for him and love him just like i loved barnaby.
Buffalo Wings Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 as long as he doesn't cheap shot anyone (a la tootoo), i'll be happy for him and love him just like i loved barnaby. And as long as he doesn't pull any sh*t that Avery does, I'm happy.

Speaking of the announcers -- who was the color commentator that had the man-love for Jersey. The guy wouldn't quit. There was nothing about Buffalo, it was all "watch out for NJ." -- not that there's anything wrong with that.

I think it was moreso a suckup to Doc though...

Hawerchuk Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 When was the last time that we "agitated" any team? It would be Barnaby and Varada, around '96-'98.
el_Polako Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 And as long as he doesn't pull any sh*t that Avery does, I'm happy. like his love for purses lol
X. Benedict Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 like his love for purses lol European Carry-all.
Doohicksie Posted November 4, 2008 Report Posted November 4, 2008 And as long as he doesn't pull any sh*t that Avery does, I'm happy. Are you kidding? That's EXACTLY what you want him to do!
el_Polako Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 Are you kidding? That's EXACTLY what you want him to do! act like a clown in front of a goalie?? yea i'll pass.
FogBat Posted November 5, 2008 Report Posted November 5, 2008 as long as he doesn't cheap shot anyone (a la tootoo), i'll be happy for him and love him just like i loved barnaby. I wondered if someone was going to bring up Barnaby. AFAIAC, he's picking up where Barnaby left off. For far too long, we didn't have that pesky agitator. Now we have one and he's home grown!
