tulax Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 Was wondering if any Philadelphia residents on the board knew of any good places to watch games in Philly. I have to get away from all this Phillies mania and see some buffalo sports.
Sabresince70 Posted November 1, 2008 Report Posted November 1, 2008 I don't live in Philly, I'm about an hour north, Allentown, but I have never found any place to watch out of town teams in my area (save the Yankees). This part of the commonwealth for the 41+ years I have been in it are such homers it is nauseating. It is so bad that I can not root for any Philly team. I'd be too embarassed to be associated with the other fans. There are 3 Sabres fans that I am aware of in a 30 mile radius of me - no crap the local sporting goods store has my number and calls before they bother ordering Sabres merchandise, if I won't buy it- they don't carry it. The only safe place to watch a game, and certainly the only way to hear RJ is center ice. And the next best thing about the package? ALL Philly games are blacked out because directv doesn't carry Philly comcast (only Washington). Sorry I can't give you a decent bar (we have a sports bar with 30 TVs and none will have the Sabres on, ever).
james duncan Posted November 2, 2008 Report Posted November 2, 2008 None that I know of. Do yourself a favor and buy the Season Ticket for the same reasons 70 gave you. There are a few Bills Backers groups--one in Center City and one in Willow Grove.
