Corp000085 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 7:00pm This is the first huge matchup of the year. I suspect that the sabres will come out flying, as they really should have been embarrassed at the 3rd period performance against the avalanche. Plus, its the senators and everyone hates the senators. Does weber get the callup? Since portland, or is way farther away from buffalo than rochester is, the callup will have to happen sometime overnight or early tomorrow morning. If not, the sabres will have to skate with 5 defensemen, or Tallinder might just be able to suck it up and play. If anyone is interested in refreshing the wire all night, the website is here http://stats.theahl.com/hm/transactions.php I just feel that the sabres will come out and win this game, for two simple reasons: 1) its the senators, and 2) they want to make up for saturday night. LETS GO BUFFALO!
rickshaw Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Gotta a bad feeling about this one. For some reason we just don't seem to play our best against Ottawa. Hope I'm wrong as I despise Crusty the Clown and his merry band. Off topic. Next time you listen to Jason Spezza speak, look past his handsome exterior (no, I'm not gay, not that's there's anything wrong with that) and you will notice that there are not many people in this world who are dumber than this guy. He is about as bright as a black light in a room full of fuzzy posters. Hope we win. If we do, 5-2 Sabres. If not, 4-1 Ottawa.
darksabre Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I feel good about this game for some reason...
Two or less Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I feel good about this game for some reason... Same here. Unlike several recent games where i could have seen the score go either way, i really don't think Ottawa is even near our level. I'm sure they will come into the game very hard knowing they've been playing like garbage for a week and Sabres will need to hold off their quick attack from the start, but with Ryan Miller playing as well as he's been and our defense playing as well as they been, i really have a hard time seeing Ottawa beating us. 5-1 Buffalo. Vanek. Roy 2, Pominville, and Kotalik with goals. I can't wait to see Kaleta and Neil go at it.
Hank Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 6-2 Sabres, at least two fights and Max gets at least one goal. As of today I have no friggin clue how many days are left. Damn TOA changed. Somewhere between 10 and 30. If I miss thanksgiving again I may shoot somebody.
inkman Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I can't wait to see Kaleta and Neil go at it. Outside of Pat getting pummeled, I doubt they will go at it.
inkman Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I feel good about this game for some reason... Ottawa better watch out for this guy...
evil_otto Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Ottawa better watch out for this guy... WTF? I'll have some of whatever he's smoking.

K-9 Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Not to jinx it or anything, but I hope Lindy reminds these guys that two years ago a struggling Sens team came into town to face the hottest team in the league and kicked our ass to jump start their season. We all know how they finished. GO SABRES!!!
carpandean Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Not to jinx it or anything, but I hope Lindy reminds these guys that two years ago a struggling Sens team came into town to face the hottest team in the league and kicked our ass to jump start their season. We all know how they finished. My thoughts exactly. I didn't like how they came out against Atlanta, another team that was not playing well and was playing desperate. It was the first game that I thought I was watching last year's team (at least initially) instead of this year's. We need to come out strong. Assume that these guys are the Sens that have played well against us over the last three years and make a statement early.
spndnchz Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Nice to have an early start for a change. Looks like Auld in net for the Sens. No class tomorrow, the girls and I will be watching in Margaritaville. -GO SABRES
frisky Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Looks like it will be Hank tonight or 5 d guys. I'd like to see some tighter defence tonight. Seems like we've gotten a little sloppy the last few games. Edit: Nevermind, Looks like Weber is up.

carpandean Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 I'm confused. My guess is that Hank is still a game-time decision, but was questionable enough in the morning that they had to bring up Weber just in case.

LETS GO BUFFALO! No callups as of yet, eh? Looks as though we'll roll with 5 or Tallinder's going to play...

I didn't see that. Looking forward to watching him out there tonight. On a totally unrelated note, I'd love to be able to watch some Portland hockey...
carpandean Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 On a totally unrelated note, I'd love to be able to watch some Portland hockey... You can, but it's not cheap: http://ahl.neulion.com/team/console.htm $140/yr for one team $6/game for live games $4/game for archived games

Assume that these guys are the Sens that have played well against us over the last three years and make a statement early. Agreed I also want to see them jump on a division rival while they are down, hell they lost to the Leafs the other day so we need to have our way with them as well. No jump starting their season on our watch... Damn where's that Rivet wehn you need him.... I expect Ottawa to try the physical game stuff with us early.... Lets jump on them early boys Sabres 4-2
Two or less Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Outside of Pat getting pummeled, I doubt they will go at it. While i don't think they will drop the gloves, Kaleta and Neil will be aiming at each other all game long i think.
Two or less Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Buffalo News reports Patrick Lalime to start tonight.
spndnchz Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 as per SDS: Go high blocker side on Auld.
wjag Posted October 27, 2008 Report Posted October 27, 2008 Hmmm.... From Buffalo News... "Centers Paul Gaustad (thumb), Tim Connolly (back) and Jochen Hecht (finger) continued making progress Sunday. Gaustad and Connolly had progressed so much that Ruff refused to rule out either player for tonight?s game. "

They are both close but neither one of them will play tonight [against the Ottawa Senators]," Ruff said. "We are within days, but they (Goose and Timmay) are both not ready yet."
