Corp000085 Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 9:00pm Honestly, I know nothing about colorado. I do know that the sabres are back to their ways of finding any way possible to win a game. I am all for the regular goalie rotation, but this is a game where Miller has to play. He did play very well on Thursday, but this is a bounceback game for him due to his own goal. Miller has always played very well after a lousy game. The team had his back on thursday and I think he has their backs tomorrow, no matter if the skaters play well or poorly. Honestly, i had this game penciled in for a "who cares" loss, but after thursdays ending, I don't see the Sabres losing.
wonderbread Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 agreed. Lindy probably will start Lalime. I think this will be a good test for him Hell he has gotten the 3 out of 4 possible points so far. Keep Miller fresh. Its a marathon not a sprint.
billsrcursed Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Ya, I think Lalime goes as well. I also think he's getting a shutout.
wjag Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 Tonight the Sabres get re-introduced to an old friend, Darcy Tucker.
spndnchz Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 A short summation: Colorado goalies suck averaging 3-3.45 GAA. Colorado is one of the highest scoring teams with 28 goals. Almost everyone of the team has at least one goal. They are 4 and 3, 0 and 2 when trailing after the first period and 4 and 0 when leading after the second. Bad on the penalty kill. 30th overall in the NHL. I'm looking at lots of goals by the Sabres tonight. GO SABRES!!!
tom webster Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I'd be surprised but not shocked if they go with Lalime here.
bleedblueandgold Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I think Lalime tonight and Miller on Monday versus Ottawa.
cilevel Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 agreed. Lindy probably will start Lalime. I think this will be a good test for him Hell he has gotten the 3 out of 4 possible points so far. Keep Miller fresh. Its a marathon not a sprint. And Lalime is more familiar with the Western Conference teams and their shooters so it would make a lot of sense, unless Lalime's record against the Avs is particularly bad (often a factor) I can see not reason not to start him. Also, Miller was very relaxed and I don't think it as necessary to get him right back out there after his gaffe. He was great for the rest of the game so no biggie there IMO>
wjag Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 From John Vogl's article today.. "Every time you get a chance to be out there, you want to be part of this,? said Lalime, who is likely to start tonight against the Avs. ?I really enjoy it now, and I think that?s what you?re looking for. You want to win, and right now things are going good for the team, and that?s the best part.? " Think he knows something? I've got Lalime and Miller and I needs to know which one to start as I won't have a chance to change before the game.
awill29 Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I don't agree with Lalime here. The Avs are known for having a potent offense, but they have some of the worst goaltending in the league. I'd play my number 1 in this game, no matter how good Lalime is playing.
Two or less Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I think you go with Miller tonight. Lalime has been awesome and he will play his fair share next month, but there's a reason why Miller gets paid what he does and why Lalime gets what he does...
Stoner Posted October 25, 2008 Report Posted October 25, 2008 I'll like to propose a new feature on the game discussion thread: the Nutty Prediction of the Game. This can't be Thomas Vanek scores two goals or Ryan Miller gets a shutout. This has to be way out there, like Derek Roy ends up under the opponent's bench or Miller scores into his own net. Tonight, I'm smelling a first-period goal by Andrew Peters. I believe that's Nutty enough. Anyone else?

I agree, Miller can go tonight and Monday and he has the best chance of shutting down a solid Avs offense.
Strow Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Ive been picking against the sabres all season other than the Long Island game so tonight I got with a sabres win 6-5 Lalime plays but get pulled. SabreInFla Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Kaleta puts someone through the glass. Teppo with the trick......
nfreeman Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 Well, I'd like to see an honest 60-minute effort tonight. We can't keep pulling rabbits out of hats. I'm concerned that the Sabres are getting complacent and might think (subconsciously) that they don't need to play hard for the entire game. Colorado is a pretty talented team, although it does seem like they are vulnerable in net. If they get good goaltending and we don't play with desperation, we could get smoked. OTOH, Stafford, Roy and Max are all showing signs of life. I think Lalime starts. I'd like to see MacArthur and Paille play better in the offensive zone. Sometimes it seems like Pommer can't get any help up there. My wacky prediction: I'll take Tallinder with a goal. Game prediction -- Sabres, 5-3.
Strow Posted October 26, 2008 Report Posted October 26, 2008 anyone have the link to watch online tonight?
