will Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 unbelievable. freakin' unbelievable. the wild fans have got to be shaking their heads wondering what happened to their 3-1 win.
wjag Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 okay admit it... Who hear thought the game was out of reach when Miller own goaled it??? I sure as hell did...
McJeff215 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Damn it!! I turned the game off with 5 mins left... just turned it back on to see the Sabres skating off the ice congratulating each other... Looks like I missed a hell of a come back....
awill29 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Wow. Usually there'd be the trollers to gripe and moan about how we can't come back like this in the playoffs, but with our injuries, I'm more than happy with the 2 points. And Vanek-Roy-Stafford... :worthy: :worthy: :worthy:
X. Benedict Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 okay admit it... Who hear thought the game was out of reach when Miller own goaled it??? I sure as hell did...
SwampD Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 okay admit it... Who hear thought the game was out of reach when Miller own goaled it??? I sure as hell did... I honestly did not. I went outside and watched on my patio. It was 33 degrees. I love this team
matter2003 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Damn it!! I turned the game off with 5 mins left... just turned it back on to see the Sabres skating off the ice congratulating each other... Looks like I missed a hell of a come back.... haven't you learned yet?!?
McJeff215 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 haven't you learned yet?!? I actually said to myself... "I shouldn't do this, I'm going to miss a hell of a comeback. Naa... that can't happen EVERY time!"
ROC Sabres Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Well we have two choices: A) last years team that came out early and lost the game in the third and lost in OT or the SO B) Lose the game for 55 minutes and pull it out in the end, OT and SO I'll take B any day of the week. Even with the amount of stress and frustration.
Chief Enabler Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Devils have a pretty good backup, did Langenbrunner retire? Three goals in three minutes sobered me up quick :D ....Anyhow, F-U St.Paul! Good Night! B-)
Corp000085 Posted October 24, 2008 Author Report Posted October 24, 2008 Some quick thoughts: 1) Vanek is clutch. I'd go as far as to say that he is playing decent hockey! 2) Roy finally scores. He has been playing great, and setitng up plays, but he finally got his own 3) Stafford is warming up 4) The D-pairings were a-ok without rivet. Paetsch played well and there wasn't a dropoff. 5) Tallydman didn't miss a step 6) Sekera might just be blooming into a much better version of Brian Campbell 7) Great 1st period, horrible 2nd, whatever in the first 15:00 of the 3rd, last 5 minutes and OT, um, about as damn great as it gets. That's all for now. I really am in disbelief right now. Still very angry at the own goal situation and the complete bla of the game, but those last 5 minutes made it worthwhile. Simply awesome
SwampD Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I actually said to myself... "I shouldn't do this, I'm going to miss a hell of a comeback. Naa... that can't happen EVERY time!"  you can never watch again
BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Since it's apparently a day for old cheesey movie references from me ... I'll just say this ... In the immortal words of Clark W. Griswold ... If I woke up in the morning with my head sewn to the carpet, I couldn't be any more surprised than I am right now. That's a really good Minnesota team that just does not give up leads at home like that. And Backstrom does not allow two goals to hit him and go in like those last two very often. Not the Sabres best night, but man, they don't quit.

Stoner Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I'l say it again...shades of '06-'07. Is that good or bad? What, no love for Max here? I think the guy's playing some of the best hockey of his career. Anyone else catch Neale calling another election with the polls still open? :)
McJeff215 Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I'l say it again...shades of '06-'07. Yup, I agree. Confidence in the FO again and we're not stinging from losing our C's. A solid team all around thus far. That Trent Edwards has done wonders for...er... sorry... I'm confusing myself. I'm just not used to having two decent Buffalo teams at the same time. Life is good this evening.

Anyone else catch Neale calling another election with the polls still open? :) I'm one of Maxs' biggest supporters on this board... I thought he played pretty well... But damn, one of those shots needs to go in already....
darksabre Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I'l say it again...shades of '06-'07. I don't want 06-07, I want 05-06. but I'll take the win
SwampD Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 I don't want 06-07, I want 05-06. but I'll take the win  either way...no matter how many goals they were down, you just knew they had it in them to come back.
carpandean Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Shout out to Hank Tallinder for going on a little stroll down the board ... dum-de-dum ... behind the net ... ho-hum ... AND PASSING IT RIGHT OUT TO ROY AND VANEK! Whoops Wild. Maybe you should have done something about that.
JohnRobertEichel Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 Sabres (6-0-1) have now beaten the only other regulation-undefeated teams in the NHL: Montreal (5-0-1) and Minnesota (4-0-1). And we're doing this despite 4 injuries: Hecht, Connolly, Gaustad, Rivet.
Doohicksie Posted October 24, 2008 Report Posted October 24, 2008 okay admit it... Who hear thought the game was out of reach when Miller own goaled it??? I sure as hell did... I had the opposite reaction. As soon as Miller's goal went in, I could hear his post-game interview: "Well, we were kind of flat, so I decided to give the boys a challenge, you know, to wake them up ;)"
