BetweenThePipes00 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Do the new 3rd jerseys make an appearance tonight? If I remember correctly it was every Friday night home game. I believe they said Nov. 8 was the first game for them.
Two or less Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I think we'll see our old "Buddy" Taylor "Mascara" Pyatt on the line with the Sedin twins tonight. I was over on HFBoards / Vancouver threads and he has become their favorite whipping boy as of late. Nuck's fans are really bashing him hard.Hopefully, they will be tired from their game last night vs the Wings. They got a "W" though. I think they are without Kevin Beiska (sp?) on Defense last I heard. LETS GO BUFFALO!! Actually, our old buddy Steve Bernier is the new linemate for the Sedin's. Pyatt used to be with them. I believe Pyatt plays with Demitra and Raymond right now. Raymond and Burrows are kids to watch out for. Awesome players.
jimiVbaby Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I haven't found a schedule, but since we played Montreal last Friday at home in the slug, it can't be every Friday night home game. Good point. Maybe cause it was the opener? They have to start wearing them sometime soon, right?
jimiVbaby Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I believe they said Nov. 8 was the first game for them. Just saw this. Wonder why they're waiting so long.
Two or less Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Just saw this. Wonder why they're waiting so long. Alot of teams i know are waiting til mid-November. I'm sure it's something to do with rules. Although Edmonton wore theirs on opening night. lol so idk...
Realist Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Alot of teams i know are waiting til mid-November. I'm sure it's something to do with rules. Although Edmonton wore theirs on opening night. lol so idk... Carolina wore theirs on Monday night. Ugly, all black uniforms. The only good thing about them was the crest was a Hurricane flag instead of that ugly puck/eye of a hurricane thing they have.

I thought I saw Pyatt on the Sedin twins line last night? Maybe not. GO SABRES!!
carpandean Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Carolina wore theirs on Monday night. Ugly, all black uniforms. The only good thing about them was the crest was a Hurricane flag instead of that ugly puck/eye of a hurricane thing they have. It's actually a "tropical storm warning" flag, because there is only one. You need two red flags for a "hurricane warning". A "hurricane watch" can be issued with a single flag, but all that means is that people in that area should listen to their radios because a hurricane may move into the area, in which case a "hurricane warning" will be issued. So, basically, as it stands now, Carolina fans should listen to (or watch) the game because the Carolina Hurricanes may show up, but otherwise they will just see the Carolina Tropical Storms. Boy, is that intimidating. <_<
Sabresince70 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Can't remember where I saw it any more... but they are claiming it is a "ripped hurricane flag" suggesting that the other half is missing. Probably just an answer to all of the - "it needs two" posts from their own boards.

rbochan Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 People, the Canucks will not play Sanford tonight... Actually, yes.. yes they will.
FearTheReaper Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 4-2 Buffalo. IMO,if Paille plays another killer game tonight, then he needs to be upgraded to the first line with Roy and Vanek. Vanek and Paille have connected for two shorties together on the PK,how cant that chemistry carry over into even strength?
wjag Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Really looking forward to this one. It's a rare treat to get a WC team in here. And I don't have to stay up late to see them. Roy gets the hat trick.. You heard it here first.. Luongo has surrendered 8 goals to Washington and Detroit.... No reason that trend shouldn't continue..
hopeleslyobvious Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I am all for letting Miller get into a grove, but I think the goaltending duties should almost always be split in back to backs. From what I have seen so far this year, the leadership is not going to let the team slip into cruise control. I would like to see a few less mistakes in their own end, but all in all I really like what I have seen so far.
Two or less Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 wow Sanford starting tonight. If Miller and the defense play anywhere near to the level they did vs. the NYR, this could be another NYI type offensive game.

If Miller and the defense play anywhere near to the level they did vs. the NYR, this could be another NYI type offensive game. I was looking forward to Luongo. Don't get a chance to see him much. I know bupkis about Sanford.. I do remember that TV show he did with his son though...
Guest Sloth Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Two things are making the Sabres D MUCH better this year. Numminen just seems to get the players around him to do what their supposed to do and Rivet is giving this protect your teammates attitude.
Claude Balls Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I was looking forward to Luongo. Don't get a chance to see him much. I know bupkis about Sanford.. I do remember that TV show he did with his son though... Oh yeah, the one with Lamont? That was a funny show. What with the opposing goalies lately. First Ronald McDonald and now Fred Sanford??? I'm liking Buff tonight 5-2
SabresFan526 Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Looks like Sanford and Miller tonight. So, I suspect Lalime tomorrow night here in ATL. I decided to spend the money for Center Ice on DirecTV. I'm excited. Last year, I purchased Center Ice Online to watch games on my laptop because I traveled all the time, but since I'm back in school this year, I decided to purchase it on TV. I'm excited. I think it'll be the best $169 I ever spend. In terms of the game, like Corp said at the start, I want to see Roy score tonight and the third line get a few scores with Kotalik and Max. Paille and Vanek have now made me expect excellent games from them tonight, so I'd like to also see a big game for those two since I've gotten used to it and expect it.
rickshaw Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Sorry fellas. I was wrong about Sanford starting.
wjag Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 Buffalo PP Spacek from the point.. Buffalo:  Canucks:
