MattPie Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 After all the hmm'ing and haw'ing about the faceoffs in the Islanders game, check out the stats for the Rangers game: http://www.nhl.com/scores/htmlreports/20082009/FC020044.HTM The two actual Buffalo Centers were pretty good, Mair *really* good. The wingers were awful, almost to be expected. Note which Ranger Center was under 50% though.

There was a great discussion on the NHL Network last night showing how the Sabres were able to take advantage of Drury in the faceoff circle: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=edaJP3Lp0Gg

carpandean Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Just don't look at our faceoff numbers against the Islanders. That was the only battle that we didn't win.

I just got rickrolled too. nfreeman, now I know how you feel. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard.

And what happens today? I get rickrolled. Thanks SDS, it got quite a laugh from everyone here at the office.
SDS Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 :nana: My 1st one. I'm quite pleased with myself.
Two or less Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 The only player who really struggled in faceoffs last night was Clarke MacArthur but i mean, he played a great overall game and the transition to center can't be that easy, i didn't really expect him to do much better at the faceoff circle.
Stoner Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Rickrolling is dumb. I'm still waiting for the NHL to make the faceoff stats a bit more precise. A lot of draws aren't won cleanly. It would be interesting to give a winger, or defenseman for that matter, a "faceoff assist" if he steps in and secures the puck. "Clean wins" would be another good subcategory. Wouldn't be that hard to keep track, I don't think. Not to mention breaking down faceoffs by critical situations: last two minutes, up by a goal, defensive zone draw, etc. etc.
inkman Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Rickrolling is dumb. I gotta disagree or at least this guy does.
JujuFish Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 It's "hemming and hawing", not "hmm'ing and haw'ing".
Stoner Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I gotta disagree or at least this guy does. That's not how I roll.
