awill29 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Paille is the best player on the ice tonight. This guy just does not quit.
JujuFish Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I kinda want to see Vanek get the EN goal for the hat trick, even though it's not as meaningful.
SwampD Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 If I'm this amped up during game three, I think in the playoffs my heart is going to explode
ROC Sabres Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I kinda want to see Vanek get the EN goal for the hat trick, even though it's not as meaningful. He was about a half-step/stick move away from it. I would also like to see it. But i think Paille will get it and deserves it.
will Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 following along with this thread and yahoo 60 sec. updates...i see the 3rd period shots as 9-4 rags...are they outplaying buffalo in this period?
X. Benedict Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I kinda want to see Vanek get the EN goal for the hat trick, even though it's not as meaningful. Then he would just need a penalty shot.
ROC Sabres Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 400!!!! I'll be sure to raise one for lindy tonight! Congrats! cant wait til 500!
GoSabresGo Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Im getting real excited about this team, especially the way they are displaying a hard work ethic. If they continue to play hard and not lapse into taking shifts, periods, games off this team could go far.
inkman Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Anyone know the current forward lines? I can't keep track with Gaustad, Connolly, and now Hecht out. Stafford-Roy-Vanek Paille-MacArthur-Pominville Kotalik-Mair-Afinogenov Peters-Ellis-Kaleta
X. Benedict Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Stafford-Roy-VanekPaille-MacArthur-Pominville Kotalik-Mair-Afinogenov Peters-Ellis-Kaleta Actually...Max did some backchecking and he's keeping it simple. Not a distraction.
JohnRobertEichel Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 wow...got kinda quit in here. Presidential debate.
WayneGibbous Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 3 Games 3 GA 11 GF (12 if you include SO) 100% PK Great PP (2 tonight) Miller 2GA Vanek 5 Goals (2 SH) 4 fights Tight D Kaleta is league's premier agitator But I'm sure the negative types will continue their crap
Guest Sloth Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 If I'm this amped up during game three, I think in the playoffs my heart is going to explode Awesome! I'm feeling the same way right now, too. Sabres score a goal and I go nuts! I'm glad my wife can handle it. Only 79 regular seasons to go. I'm loving the play of Vanek and Paille!
jimiVbaby Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Team defense, blocked shots and the Sabres applying the sleeper hold in the 3rd? So nice to see.
inkman Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 maybe he's been reading inky's posts...? I don't know who stole # 26 but this dude is playing out of his skull.
SabresFan526 Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 400 wins for Lindy. What an accomplishment! I love the way the Sabres are playing right now. Last year, this type of a game was one the Sabres would lose either in the third period or the shootout. The players are largely the same, but the attitude and style of play is totally different. You can see it out on the ice the commitment to defense that everyone is playing with, blocking shots, and I have to say Miller looks a lot sharper than he did this time last year, understandable given his family troubles. But, really, Miller has looked outstanding in both the Montreal game and tonight. I love seeing Vanek on the PK, too. The way this team is playing right now, being dangerous on the PK really reminds me of the 2005-2006 team. That team was awesome on special teams and this team has not given up a PP goal yet and Vanek has 2 shorties already this year. And, let's not kid ourselves, the Sabres have beaten 2 teams that many predicted would compete for the Eastern Conference title this year in Montreal and the Rangers. If you're a Sabres fan, you've got to be excited. What I love is that everyone knows this team has the talent to score and still has one of the best transition games in the NHL. As long as they play well and make that commitment to defense, with the team speed and offensive ability, they will capitalize on the opportunities they get and they've proven it thus far.

inkman Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 But I'm sure the negative types will continue their crap I hope not. This team has a weird, different feeling than most Sabres teams I remember.
Claude Balls Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 I would also like to see it. But i think Paille will get it and deserves it. He missed the yawning net from 40 feet. Time to cut him.
ROC Sabres Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 He missed the yawning net from 40 feet. Time to cut him. The worst part is I posted that about 5 secs before he got it up the wing. :wallbash: Even so, he played rock solid all night and I think i have a new candidate for my third jersey.
SwampD Posted October 16, 2008 Report Posted October 16, 2008 Awesome! I'm feeling the same way right now, too. Sabres score a goal and I go nuts! I'm glad my wife can handle it. Only 79 regular seasons to go. I'm loving the play of Vanek and Paille! Luckily my wife was out tonight. As far as Vanek and Pialle, I'm seeing a lot of stuff out of alot of players that I never saw before and didn't know they had in them. I think Rivet was a HUGE pickup.
