topshelfcookies Posted February 27, 2006 Report Posted February 27, 2006 Whenever our Cap'n gets any type of recognition from national media, much is made of Drury's impressive resume of championships - it's cool to see how successful Drury's teams have been, at so many different levels of play. I just saw this stat tonight, thanks to tsn.ca, and thought it was interesting. Sweden's Fredrik Modin joined hockey's Triple Gold Club of 17 players who have won Olympic gold, a world championship and a Stanley Cup. Also in the club are: Peter Forsberg Slava Fetisov Tomas Jonsson Valeri Kamensky Igor Larionov Alexander Mogilny Vladimir Malakhov Alexei Gusarov Joe Sakic Brendan Shanahan Rob Blake Scott Niedermayer Jaromir Jagr Jiri Slegr. I believe Drury is just an Olympic Gold away, right? Here's hoping he gets at least one more Cup win before a possible Gold in 2010.

Yeah, but how many of those guys have won Little League World Series? :) Drury also has an NCAA title on his resume, something that I don't think any of the North Americans on that list have. And here's betting Drury gets into that club before Mats Sundin, if Sundin finishes his career with the Loafs. :D
