carpandean Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Not awful: http://icethetics.blogspot.com/2008/09/hur...ird-jersey.html
Two or less Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 No that is actually pretty cool. Although, i hate how 99% of all 3rd jerseys are black. What is up with that trent?
nucci Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 No that is actually pretty cool. Although, i hate how 99% of all 3rd jerseys are black. What is up with that trent? Sales!
Fisherman Phil Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Ermmm....Correct me if I am wrong, but a SINGLE red square with the black dot does NOT mean a Hurricane....It means a Storm. Just sayin'...... Fisherman Phil
carpandean Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 Sales! That and black is a third (or fourth) color in a lot of primary jerseys (about 13 by my count.) Plus, black just looks cool. I liked the Sabres' black jerseys, but that color scheme always felt unoriginal (in two ways: not an original color scheme and not their original color scheme.) I'm glad that they've gone back to blue and gold. Wonder if we'll ever see a gold third ...
InRodWeTrust Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Ermmm....Correct me if I am wrong, but a SINGLE red square with the black dot does NOT mean a Hurricane....It means a Storm. Just sayin'...... Fisherman Phil One flag is used for a hurricane watch. Two flags for a hurricane warning.
shrader Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Its strange that they put a black shoulder patch on a black jersey.
carpandean Posted September 10, 2008 Author Report Posted September 10, 2008 Its strange that they put a black shoulder patch on a black jersey. Technically, it's black and silver (or whatever silver-like color that is), but your point is still correct. They kinda remind me of those subdued (olive drab and flat black for woodland or khaki and olive drab for desert) military patches.
RayFinkle Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Where is the silver piping? Aren't all new jersey's supposed to have silver piping to make them "modern"?
frisky Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Should they change they're names to the Carolina Storm? They need two of those flags to make it a hurricane warning. Coastal Warning Display Signs
LabattBlue Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Where is the silver piping? Aren't all new jersey's supposed to have silver piping to make them "modern"? Plus where is the number on the front of the jersey. I heard that is the rage of the league! PS They are fugly!
Hawerchuk Posted September 10, 2008 Report Posted September 10, 2008 Looks like the hockey stick is curved, and not just the blade, the whole shaft!! They must have used a grammer school hockey stick reference when they are all made out of cheap plastic. You know the ones we all used in 5th grade or whatever. HA HA! GO SABRES!!
FogBat Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 One flag is used for a hurricane watch. Two flags for a hurricane warning. I'll take the "watch" over the "warning," TYVM. After all, Carolina has returned to the Hartford Whalers' form of yesteryear.
FogBat Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Its strange that they put a black shoulder patch on a black jersey. Wow! Good catch!
shrader Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Wow! Good catch! Eh, it really wasn't a catch. Someone posted that patch here a few days ago (Screamin' Weasel maybe?).
nobody Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 There's a photo gallery at the Canes site. http://hurricanes.nhl.com/team/app/?servic...rticleid=381609
nobody Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 The Bruins showed off their 3rd jersey http://ccrawford11.typepad.com/hubhockey/2...3rd-jersey.html
Campy Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Ermmm....Correct me if I am wrong, but a SINGLE red square with the black dot does NOT mean a Hurricane....It means a Storm. Just sayin'...... Fisherman Phil Nope, you're right. 1 flag for storm warnings, 2 for hurricane warnings. EDIT: @frisky - I saw your post after I posted - good find. Apologies for redundancy.
nobody Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Here is a note on two vintage jerseys the Habs potentially will be wearing for a couple of games. http://www.jerseydatabase.com/blog.php?p=35
Bmwolf21 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Wow, that Bruins' 3rd sucks. I really hope the Habs aren't using those throwbacks. Awful looking and will probably look bad on TV. As much as it pains me to say it, I generally like the Canes' thirds. Only parts I don't like are the sliver/black shoulder patches and the storm warning-dot border around the waist.
spndnchz Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Here is a note on two vintage jerseys the Habs potentially will be wearing for a couple of games. http://www.jerseydatabase.com/blog.php?p=35 Dr. Seuss? is that you?
spndnchz Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 Eh, it really wasn't a catch. Someone posted that patch here a few days ago (Screamin' Weasel maybe?). It seems this same Canes logo was used in 1998? http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=37
RayFinkle Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 It seems this same Canes logo was used in 1998?http://www.sportslogos.net/logo.php?id=37 This is like be B with the sword through it. They have used the logo for a long time, just not as their primary.
Sabresince70 Posted September 11, 2008 Report Posted September 11, 2008 For what it's worth - on the bottom of the logo from the previous post it says "half of the red flag" I guess they know it takes two to make a hurricane... just couldn't figure out how to use it on the logo Thanks for the links!
