The offseason is drawing to a close, but I don't want to wait another 4 weeks for hockey. Plus did you think Max would still be on the team at this point? Wait, why exactly am I exciting about this season? Isn't this basically the same team + Craig Rivet?

Other than Poms being listed as the Captain, which he has been for at least the last month, and them now having 1 too many "A"'s since Teppo came back. They show 8 D, and 14 F's, which is probably what the format for presenting them is maxed out at. (Barring injuries, that is the most forwards +/or D that they will carry in the regular season. (Well, at least until after the trade deadline.)) They will reduce that by at least 1, probably 2 for opening night. Darche is listed instead of the General. Considering he was probably told he'd have a legit shot at claiming the 12th forward spot, even though it is a long shot; it would be bad form to put Clarke on the list while leaving Mathieu off it.

I would have said that most of the letters were carry-overs from last season, but Teppo has the "A". I don't remember who had the "A"s at the end of the season, but it could have been Hecht and Roy. They list 14 forwards, including Kaleta and Darche, but not MacArthur. I figured Darche and MacArthur would both be in Portland and thought/hoped Kaleta would be up here. They probably would start the season with 13, but does that mean Darche is going down or that Max will be going, moving Stafford up with Vanek/Roy and leaving Darche/Peters taking turns on the fourth line?

From the start of last season... Out - Kalinin, Campbell, tbo and hopefully Max In - Rivet, Teppo, Sekera, Lalime and possibly MacArthur

Two or less Posted August 20, 2008 Report Posted August 20, 2008 That's really what I'm wondering; what are the Sabres plans for Darche. Portland, until MacArthur crashes and burns. Hopefully that isn't the case though, because i like MacArthur alot and think he's a very good talent in this league.

I knew there was a reason I like Hockey first and Football second..... That said, I wish I could join you, the only watching I get living out of town is the Internet... Yeah, tough start for the Bills already. First the scare about Edwards and now the reality of Crowell. And the season hasn't even started yet. I do think the Bills will be good and even make the playoffs. But nothing excites me more then going to the arena. I'll be there September 20th and gonna go to a preseason game. And i got tickets for opening night. I can't wait for some hockey!

Just glad he is finally getting it taken care of now, even though it puts us in a jam for this season. I can't wait to get down to the arena also. Been too long. Anyone have any idea if the 3rd jerseys are going to be on sale when they are announced at the arena? Basically pick it up on the same day.

I mentioned in another thread that, from what I see, the jerseys won't be available to buy and take home, just "unveiling them" at the Arena. You can then pre-order, as in, "we don't have them here yet" like a new movie. I assume they'll have "pre-orders" online too.
