Vermette likely gone from Ottawa

Seeing that Vermette is going to arbitration with Ottawa and it looks like they will be at a impasse, he will be a UFA. Personally, I think he could help the Sabres, but is there room for him and do you think Buffalo would look at him? Yeah, he had a bad playoff series against PITT, but he brings lots of intangables and he can score given the right line combo. He's a tough player. Anyway, just wanted your opinion on this. I doubt BUF will make a offer, but it would be interesting.

Sorry to burst your bubble, but Vermette and the Sens came to an agreement about 5 minutes before their arbitration hearing on a 2 year extension. Having said that, I still think he very well could be traded, but I don't see Buffalo being a player in that deal as I doubt Ottawa would trade Vermette within the division.

Don't worry about it. I too was hoping the Sabres could acquire him. To make things worse, I was hoping, during the season, the Sabres could pick him up this summer. I really didn't think Ottawa would be able to keep him in town.
