The Sabres will get him resigned - I am not worried about this. Plus, Pommers is going to be a RFA after the season - the Sabres will match whatever offer sheet he gets.

Whatever offer is made by another will be more than what Sabres could get for him now.

Pomminstein's new long term deal will be announced at Puck Drop 2008. I truly feel we'll find out he's been signed at the arena on Saturday.

Is that a prediction or has this been announced?

...this is the root of the problem. You don't want to let it get to the point where another team is dictating how much you should pay for a player(in this case an offer sheet). It's all about being proactive, not reactive.

You think management would've learned this by now. Vanek should've, and I thought it was, been a wake up call for the front office. Today is Wednesday. Buffalo has two more days...unless the deadline was a rumor.

Can't wait for Eklund to pick up on this.

GR says just over $5 million per year for 5 years. Great deal if those are the numbers!!

Did they finally get a 5-for-$25 deal done? Bucky might faint...

Pretty reasonable. That can't upset Roy either.... Not bad if true...

just a little high for my taste, but more than reasonable. i'd have thought they'd get him for 6/29.35, or something like that.

but given where the market's headed, and moreover where this guy's game is headed, this probably ends up being a good deal for the team.

Darcy just mentioned that Teppo has a no trade clause and there are others that have limited no trade clauses where there are certain teams that they can reject. Interesting.

Darcy said that they look at

points

ice time

top 20 in scoring

salary of other like him

age

He compared, or should I say his agent, compared him to Carter:

Carter, Jeff PHI 4.500 5.250 5.250 RFA

so I would say he's at 5.25 million average thru 2013-2014 season

If that's the case then Pommers needs a new agent!
