Once a place makes it clear you are not valued, it is time to consider other options. That stinks. But, yes, if the BS associated with the job has become too much, it is definitely time to look into other options. (Every job has BS associated with it; if you can no longer live with the BS there, move on. Life is too durn short not to.) Hopefully while you are looking for a better situation you'll be able to remember what it is you love about your current job and try to focus on that/those aspects of the job when you can. (Presumably there was something you loved about it; you took the job.) It'll help make the whole thing more tolerable. 2
Demoted Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 My usual complaint about people driving while looking at their cell phones. One day karma will hopefully catch up to them. 2
LabattBlue Posted August 1 Author Report Posted August 1 On-line chat. I swear they put the dumbest people on the planet to man their website “chat” messaging app. Not only that, but I am convinced they have several conversations going on at once based on delays responding to what should be the simplest questions. Not sure why I keep trying, knowing that the end result will be maddening. 😡😡

I’m happier at home with a pretty decent case of Covid than I would be if I were at work dealing with the whims of arrogant idiots. 35 minutes ago, LabattBlue said: On-line chat. pastajoe Posted August 1 Report Posted August 1 Used new hockey skates today for the first time. Boots fit ok but the blades were too sharp and are twice as high as my old worn out ones, so I skated like Frankenstein on ice. 😩

When you ride a bicycle around you get to see this so much better. When you 'drive' by someone you actually have the time to see what they are doing. I LOVE it when you see people not just 'glancing' at their phone...or looking at it while holding up close to eye level (where your vision might catch something out of the windshield)....but rather when they must have the phone on or near their lap, and you see a car driving by you on a residential street going 30+ mph while looking almost directly down. 2

Unless you have a defined benefit plan (a pension) that you don’t want to leave, there is little incentive to stay were you are unhappy. Assuming there are similar opportunities nearby. Night Train Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 So I'm reading and looking at the TV a bit while watching the HOF game. Why call the action when you can prattle on about Aaron Freakin' Rodgers and nauseum. Enough already..
Huckleberry Posted August 2 Report Posted August 2 Had colonoscopy done yesterday, at least nothing bad found, preparation was ***** (literally too 😛 ) though. Also 41 and learned I have Diabetes type 2 since 4 months, my regular doctor not had much time and was very negative towards me. so decided to go see specialists at diabetic clinic, there the docs were like, how did you lose so much sugar in your blood in only 6 weeks with only metformine pills. Super positive towards me, said I did well last 4 months without help and that I probably can go without pills if I loose enough weight. Said my prostate infection probably made my sugar levels spike, but got an entire battery of more tests lined up.
Wyldnwoody44 Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 I got to stand there at Home Depot this week while waiting for some help from a young lady in the aisle with the lawn/power tools. I was there the day before and knew what I needed and I knew was off the truck the day I came in. I don't mind waiting as another customer was getting help in front of me, however, this poor girl was getting berated by an older couple about how the item they were getting help with was cheaper at tractor supply, the wife in particular was just being a major Wench to put It nicely. Almost yelling at this young 20 year old something about something she can't control, and somehow at the same time acting personally slighted by the prices set by corporate. This went on for at least 5 minutes as I was standing there in my srubs just trying to get one thing. I was patient, until I wasn't. When I saw the girl on the brink of probable tears I stepped in. I made Karen so upset and flustered that she was the one that cried, she tucked her tail and left for tractor supply. I just got off an overnight and had a rough night, so the timing could have been more perfect for this situation. I just cannot understand how people operate some days. The supervisor came over after the Kerfuffle and said he had heard everything, They thanked me, and gave me a can of 2 cycle oil for free lol. So again, this complaint thread is about humanity in general. 5
mjd1001 Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 (edited) We have a neighbor, who I assume doesn't read this forum. But if they did..maybe it would help.... This neighbor frequently has work done to their yard. They hire professional landscapers to come over, have a lawn service cut their grass. Well, this neighbor is retired and in his 70's. Whenever those people come over to do work, he goes outside and asks them/tells them to not park in front of his house, but to park in front of one of the neighbors houses in stead. I have seen it over and over. He walks outside, says something to them, they move their truck/truck-trailer. 1/2 of the time, it end up in front of our house where it sometimes sits for 4-8 hours. On at least on occassion, blocking the mailbox where we didn't get mail delivered that day. When they have visitors/friends/relatives over, somehow those people always end up parking in front of our house also. I know you can park wherever you want on the street, but it annoys me at times. I told my wife that I should just park our car in front of their house all the time, but she wants me to not start any trouble in the neighborhood. Edited August 8 by mjd1001
French Collection Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 We are looking after someone’s dog for a few days. We have a dog and live in the country so it shouldn’t be a problem. This thing is not trained. He’s like a bull in a China shop in the house and won’t settle down. Our dog is older and likes to chill after a walk but this other one bugs her and is constantly on the go. He barks loudly at night when left alone so one of us had to sleep on the couch with him. We alternated nights. My wife puts him out for a while in the morning. She takes him for a walk and upon returning I take him for a walk. We get back home and he craps in the house. He’s done this twice now. The owners are back tonight, thank goodness.

I had a completely different response typed up and then I reread your post and realized that you mean the guy who hires the services is telling the service provider not to park in front of his house. What a ***** entitled clown.

The Home Depot supervisor, since he heard what was happening, should have helped this girl with a difficult customer. That is what a leader, as opposed to a manager, would do. I see this kind of situation happen all the time. People harassing young workers or older workers at stores and restaurants. I cannot stand bullies that prey on easy targets. Good for you for stepping in.

I’m always amazed by the lack of common courtesy among most people. We had a 3 month home extension project going on at the house across the street from us. The contractor wanted to put the construction dumpster in their driveway. That was inconvenient to them so instead he had to leave it across from my driveway, which was the side of their yard. I’m the corner lot on a culdesac with 5 other houses. That dumpster made it very difficult to get o it of our driveway. It also created a blind turn on/off of our street. So instead of being a slight inconvenience to that one home owner, they made the choice to instead create an inconvenience for 6 houses. Maybe I’m an extreme rarity, but if I have to choose between inconveniencing just myself or multiple other people, I’m going to suck it up and pick myself. Edited August 8 by shrader 3 1

I was going to be mad the the manager, but he had heard everything from another passer by that was a frequent shopper there and knew him, he was on the other side of the store. I had no doubt that if he had heard sooner that he would had stepped in. 1
SwampD Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 Wiped out on my bike heading home from work yesterday. Lots of pain. Nothing broken, just a huge bruise and some missing skin. I was being super cautious and still eat it. PSA: If you are using an E-bike and there is even the slightest bit of moisture whatsoever on the road, turn the peddle assist as low as it goes or even off when turning.
Huckleberry Posted August 8 Report Posted August 8 I hate e-bikes, they replaced bmw drivers as the douchebags on the road and should have seperate lanes. They blow past you from behind at 40 - 60 km/hr and no bell to warn you or anything.

I was with you with BMW (and Audi) drivers, speeding, cutting you off, weaving in and out on the highways. But now I see that behavior more in people driving 5000lb+ trucks and suvs instead.
