LGR4GM Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 Last weekend before the semester. I'm not mentally or emotionally ready this year. And financially, I'm not sure I can afford enough beer. Somewhat related, is there anything worse than not noticing a typo (despite looking it over several times) on something important until immediately after you submit it? Good luck. Semester is in full swing, it is hell, so busy can barely breath. Family stuff happened but seems okay now. The last 4 days have been terrible. Things are looking up for the weekend but gotta survive today.
SwampD Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 I hate that dogs get old. My dog stopped eating yesterday and stopped drinking water today. I made sure to say goodbye to her when I left for work this morning just in case.

Must have submitted an old version instead of the updated one. Had no idea until the interview, when the guy interviewing me asked about the three year gap... Rather mortifying. Did not get that job.

When I sit on the deck at night looking at the trees I think of many fond memories of them. Plus the process of burying them and planting the tree helps bring me closure. Just a thought...

josie Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 It's tornado season. These b@stards were near my parent's house in NW ohio yesterday: Aaand more rough weather forecast for tonight. It's been a few years since a really bad outbreak, and I've yet to see a tornadic storm up here in NY, but I still get that horrible chill down my spine when I see those things marching up from Indianapolis. Add in the inability to do anything but receive hysterical texts from my mother... Hate it.
Huckleberry Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 My amazing boss is leaving. This sucks I wish my bosses would leave to.
Eleven Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 Well, now I can't smoke, that's my first problem. I've got a busted nose, which I now have a rag glued to. And a truck glued to my hand. How's that for a start?

MattPie Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 A long-lapsed friend remembered something I told her today: "I remember years ago you [Meaning Me] told me "I can't live without music... I have to listen to music every day or I don't feel right"" (this would have been around 2001). It makes me incredibly sad that I've lost that passion for music, along with a bunch of other things.
SwampD Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0732902/quotes I don't think I have ever laughed harder than while watching that episode. In fact I'm laughing right now while thinking of that episode.

I've been thinking a lot lately about how I don't feel like I connect with music as much as I used to. When I was younger I used to drive around a lot and listen to the new music I'd bought and I think because I don't just "buy music" or "drive around", I'm not taking in new music and connecting with it. I listen to music pretty much every day at work. But I'm craving an experience with music that I've lost touch with.

I listen to music pretty much every day at work. But I'm craving an experience with music that I've lost touch with. My experience was much the same for an extended period of time, and then WHAM! I got it back with/from a specific band in ~2009. The band was not WHAM!, I should clarify.
SwampD Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 Pretty close to their best work. I had to watch it again. I'm convinced more than ever that they had to add the rag glued to the nose to cover up Ricky laughing at Conky. Julian struggles the entire episode.

We leave some silly things behind as we go along. Being a rabid fan of sports is a common one. It's a young person's game. Just try and replace those things with more meaningful things and you'll be better for it. Insight. Grateful.
biodork Posted August 25, 2016 Report Posted August 25, 2016 Dealing with contractors. Too much to type on mobile, but JC, why do they all show a complete disregard for everyone else's time??? And lame bonus complaint: the yogurt parfait I grabbed at the store as a quick lunch before leaving town is completely ruined by the fact that the blueberries are sour.

Buy a CD, or LP and listen to the whole thing. MP3s sound like $#!t. Youtube sounds like $#!t. I mentioned this in the Awesome thread, I signed up for Tidal and have been listening like a fiend again. It sounds great (not CD or LP great but still way more depth than any other option) and if you go full screen, the graphic looks like a spinning LP. I know it may sound silly but it changes the way it feels.
