Samson's Flow Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 hey inky - the sox are only down one now... we still have hope. J.D. Drew homers in the 8th and yeah Bm that PbP guy should be shot for being so ignorant as to call a 3 run home run in the playoffs as a "miracle". I really hate it when people quote old classic calls when the significance is nowhere near the original situation.

His booth mates should have unplugged his mic for the rest of the game as a punishment. Or made him walk back to the hotel wearing a Yankees jersey and hat. Seriously, WTF?

Or made him walk back to the hotel wearing a Yankees jersey and hat. Seriously, WTF? maybe he is just a psychic. he knew that the game would get tied in the eighth. :w00t: but back to the point. Everytime an announcer uses a classic call, (i.e. "do you believe in miracles?" "i do not believe what i just saw", etc.) it just cheapens the legacy of the original moment. Seriously guys, if you can't come up with anything clever and inspiring on your own, your not that good and you should just call the game straight... Sabres fans used to do this all the time when RJ used the "scary good" line. for the next year everything was described as scary good and it ruined the call...

inkman Posted October 17, 2008 Report Posted October 17, 2008 I'd like to say something witty or meaningful but this sums up my feelings.
LabattBlue Posted October 23, 2008 Author Report Posted October 23, 2008 I have nothing to complain about!
rbochan Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 They haven't packaged and shipped the cancer-fighting beer yet!
inkman Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 A manger in the company I work for calls me and asks for a favor. She's not my boss but I used to work for her and she knows I can get #%^$#! done. So I bring her the info she's looking for with supporting documentation but she waves me off as I approach the conference room. Thanks for wasting my time.
shrader Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I hate when threads around here turn political, so I'll point out that this post is not meant to be political. I saw a kid on the subway today wearing a sweatshirt covered with a bunch of Soviet Union stuff, the hammer and sickle, CCCP, and a bunch of other stuff. Then right next to all those logos, he's wearing a "McCain-Palin" pin. Seemed like a stupid combination to me.

Sounds like 1) She can't do the work you do 2) Doesn't want to give you the credit 3) Is afraid Her boss will find out she's not doing the work and these people are my complaint for Thursday.
R_Dudley Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 This time of year when you freeze your nuts off in the morning w/o coat but have a nice warm sunny afternoon where you do not need one.

Which I'm thankful for.
shrader Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 This time of year when you freeze your nuts off in the morning w/o coat but have a nice warm sunny afternoon where you do not need one. And there's still those idiots wondering around in shorts. I don't get it.

Their only purpose is to incite anger from the other side. What I hate more, though, is when guys join hockey leagues that they are obviously too good for. My rink has 8 divisions. You would think that these guys could find a division better suited for them. And when you ask them about it they say,"I'm just having fun." Well, I was having fun to until your team wanted to feel good about itself by beating up on people that are not as good as them.
nfreeman Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I hate worrying about whether the Sabres are going to go to pieces without Rivet, and whether his knee is really going to be 100% better in 2 or 3 weeks.

Funny thing is that people are saying the same thing about Obama. Capitalism has slowly been leaving our country for years...
darksabre Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 My Teppo Numminen jersey still hasn't shipped
inkman Posted October 23, 2008 Report Posted October 23, 2008 I'm tired. I hate waking up in the middle of the night and can't go back to sleep for hours. :wallbash: That has happened to me in years as I am usually at the point of complete exhaustion when I go to be. Insomnia is a serious thing, I would find out the cause. Stress?
