This.

But (of course), it's not my only complaint...why is it that execs in my organization (or most orgs for that matter) don't understand that you can't just drop a piece of gear in a data center and expect it to work 10 minutes later?

Tech guys always complaining we just don't get it.. :D

Just do your job and get my chit working K???? :nana:

I actually had to breakdown and call Verizon Tech Support this week. New computer, new verizon modem and old wireless router weren't playing nice. Turns out that modem and router shared same default IP. Would have been nice if verizon had documented that little tidbit.

I might have to use that one when my boss gripes about them again.

You best not, do you really think the execs can get a router working in 10 minutes? :)

Damn PCs. I got the old BSOD on my home PC Monday night. Got it fixed, then rebooted once again last night only to get it again - the thing won't even boot up anymore. Hopefully, this looks more like a hardware problem than a hard drive problem so I won't lose any data.

Hopefully....

Well, I'd make that comment to my direct boss (who gets it). It's the higher ups that are chomping at the bit.

I haven't been on the bike in a month; I can usually eke out a couple rides in December, January, and March. I've only ridden once in February, and I saw some flurries on the way home.

Also, I gained 5 pounds in the last two days. Xmas party and pot-luck on consecutive days not good.

Whoever decided that the Holidays are the "Most Wonderful time of the year" obvious never tried taking the last game on the shelf while someone was 5 feet away eying it and then have them try to start a fight with you about it.

I have exactly 12 more days left at this job than I wish I had.

So you got that new job? If so, congratulations. Still in Boston?
