Progressive and Flo for me.  A tired and never funny ad campaign.  🤮

At times companies and ad companies get too cute with their commercials.  I guess their strategy works.

For me a good commercial is one that opens with telling me what I am watching the commercial for, tells me the benefits of the product, and then ends reminding me what the product is for.

Every so often I will watch a commercial and I have no idea what it is for. Even if the finally tell us at the very end of the commercial what the product is, it is not as effective. If I commercial starts to air and they keep the product a mystery, then the whole time I watch it I am not 'taking in' the commercial, instead I'm thinking for the first 28 seconds of it, what is this for?

For me the worst are the drug company ads.  I feel like I see them so much that I can hum, if not recite the jingles from them.  And no, I am not going to go to my doctor and tell him the medication I want because I saw an advertisement for it. Gambling site ads are a close 2nd.

No exaggeration or hyperbole, it is probably the thing that pushed me over the edge to not listening to Buffalo Talk radio as much.

Fantasy football, ads for gambling sites over and over during commercial breaks....and worst thing is them reading promo ads for gambling site DURING the actual programming, its too much.

It started with the afternoon show.  Mike Schopp talking about his own fantasy football team over and over a few years ago..to me its not sports and its not why I tune into WGR. I haven't listened to that afternoon show in years on WGR (I tune into 590 out of Canada) and I still listen on occasion to the WGR morning show, but not as much as I used to.

Ski resort prices. On Saturday, Stratton Mountain in Vermont is $198 for a day pass. They can F off!

I have seen gambling issues ruin people and destroy  families.  I despise all the gambling ads and promotion.  Would like to some more controls in place.

But they have that disclaimer in every commercial for those with gambling issues. So they’re completely absolved of any wrongdoing. 👍

I know their (nys quit line) job is to shock people into quitting smoking, but this commercial makes me change the channel every time…

Not really a complaints but this is the most appropriate thread:

Im currently looking at a treadmill screen that says holiday hustle fitness challenge, 11/19-12/23. So I know they’re a little behind on this one, but wait, it gets better… 2018

This one snuck up on me....Galentines Day? WTH?

I heard of it before, I guess its been around for a few years, but all of a sudden this year I'm getting hit over the head with hit.

Valentines day is tomorrow. Nothing major with us but my wife and I go out to dinner, but because of work she can't tommorrow, so we are going Saturday. I KNOW in the past I could make reservations the day before (Everyone goes out on Valentines day, not the day after?).  Not this year! We got a reservation, but our first restaraunt didn't have anything available due to a 'galentines day' event they were having.

Then there is a close family member who is in her late 20's.  Not only are here and her fiancee not going out for Valentines day,she is basically kicking him out for the weekend (he is reluctantly ok with it) so she can have some 'girlfirends' over to stay overnight for the weekend, watch movies like the 'legally blond' series and drink wine and drinks the whole weekend.

I have seen baloons at stores for 'galentines day', and just thir morning, on a major news website, there was an article written by a woman saying "don't celebrate valentines day, celebrate galentines day instead'.  Really?

Galentines, basic white girl S*hit. Probably listen to Taylor swift and having a pumpkin spice latte while drinking cheap sweet wine and acting like they have a good palate.

My ex always did this with her friends, it was always a nice vacation away from that bloody gaggle of dumb girls (not her as much)

My current gal, thinks the same way as I do about it 🤢🤮🤢 so yeah, better fit 😂😁

I'm sure Hallmark is all over it. The greeting card company, not the television station. But, maybe the television station too?

I save up my complaints for the week just for when this thread opens, but then I no longer have the energy to complain about them.

My complaints in this thread about fast food(I am a junkie) over the years is probably hysterical to look at, so let me carry on….

McDonalds(big fan of the $1 pop, now $1.40) stop badgering me to round up my total to the nearest dollar for Ronald McDonald House.

I am sure it is a fine charity, but I feel as if a telemarketer is at the window when I go to pay. 😡

Let em be. It isn’t hurting anybody.  You sound like a grumpy hater.

To be fair, is it not the point of this thread to post things like he posted?

To tell them to 'let em be' and to say someone sounds like a grumpy hater, is that not the same in spirit as telling one to not complain about things in the complaint thread?

Yea I mean sure.
But like, why complain about some people having a good time with each other?

”oh man, they bought party favors like balloons and they made dinner reservations and then they got together after and had wine and enjoyed each other’s company. The audacity!”

It’s an odd thing to complain about to me.  And that’s why I called him grumpy 😀

Maybe I missed the point and he was complaining about his ex? 🤷‍♂️

Okay. My back. Don’t know what I did wrong but it’s hurt for 5 days now. Maybe I need to see a Chiropractor?

Take some muscle relaxers and see if the problematic back settles down. If it is over the counter pills try doubling up the dosage for a few days.
