Knightrider Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Did you know the 'Diesel' engine was designed to run on peanut oil? I bring this up because it is important to the discussion. Crops like corn and peanuts can be grown is great quantities in the United States without destroying our natural resources. You don't have to destroy off shore life as well as National Parks to acquire it. It would damange one of the most influential groups in this country Big Oil. If you take that argument to it's logical conclusion, we should not be farming the land as it takes the habitat of the Buffalo away. The point is, there is a balance where you weigh the environmental impacts with societal impacts. As far as damage to big oil, what industry is better suited to the refinement/distilling of ethanol in large quantities? Certainly they would still handle fuel distribution, and they certainly will still make a massive profit.
elcrusho Posted July 18, 2008 Report Posted July 18, 2008 Someone should start a group that will "take care of" people that oppose anything that will be positive for this city I find it interesting; the people that talk the most, don't even live in the city....
