Screamin'Weasel Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 A while back I posted some artworks of my daughter's that she did in eighth grade. She had won a WNY art contest back then and I was so proud of her I posted some of her work to show off. The feed back on them from posters here was great and I have recieved several PMs asking if I had any more of her stuff to post since then so I decided to take this opportunity to post a few more. She just finished her sophomore year at Frontier High School and has taken some art courses there. She is very much into anime' and comic-style art and is working on her first comic book. All her work seen here was done on her PC using a tablet and several different art programs. Let me know what you folks think so I can pass along the C&C to her. Here are some of her pieces: (done with a mouse, not tablet)
carpandean Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Great looking work! I am a part-time, wanna-be artist, but stuff like this puts me to shame.
frisky Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 That's pretty good stuff especially having been done with a mouse. Tablets can be pricey.
wjag Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I'd say she's well on her way to becoming a graphic artist or whatever else she wants to be. Is she considering RIOT?
tom webster Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Excellent work. Look forward to the next post on her progress.
R_Dudley Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Looks like creativity runs in the family. Since my kids are big pokemon and cartoon channel fans I have seen enough to say her stuff looks almost ready for prime time. Tell her great work and keep us updated.
carpandean Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Tablets can be pricey. There are a couple of decent ones (HP, Gateway) for ~$1000. I just purchased an HP tx2500z, which is quite capable and a marked improvement performance-wise over its predecessor, the tx2000z, for the same price. For $2000, there are a lot more options (Fujitsu, Toshiba, Dell, etc.) that perform very well. I've used tablets for several years, mostly for teaching (can write on PowerPoint slides while presenting), but I am starting to play with the art side of them.

outlaw16511 Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 whatever she chooses do, whether is art for video games or cartoons or comic books, I think she is going to live very comfortably with talent like that.
