frisky Posted July 10, 2008 Report Posted July 10, 2008 Sounds like the Isles are still a mess. It's been the same mess for years.
apuszczalowski Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 hmmmmm Maybe there was a reason why Teddy was out of the league so long teaching indian kids to skate and coaching in the minors
shrader Posted July 11, 2008 Report Posted July 11, 2008 How hot is DiPietro's wife? :chris: I'd be too worried about catching herpes from anything that DiPietro has been within 20 feet of.
\GoBillsInDallas/ Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 It's official: http://www.newsday.com/sports/hockey/islan...0,3241479.story
ROC Sabres Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I wonder how fast Cunny faxed them his resume.
Swedesessed Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I wonder how fast Cunny faxed them his resume. I just hope he is not asking Darcy for help on how to fax
ROC Sabres Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I just hope he is not asking Darcy for help on how to fax If he is, it's safe to say he won't be in the NHL anytime soon.
R_Dudley Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Just shocking  Actually the article Zed provided from their former PR man was very interesting. Takes two to tango and these two were headed in opposite directions.... How long till he gets a chance again ? I'm guessing never..
spndnchz Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I wonder how fast Cunny faxed them his resume. I read somewhere he's under contract until August sometime. Can he talk with other teams before free agency? dejavu
Team Strike Force Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I've always liked Nolan, and I hope he gets another shot. I think he'd succeed with a younger team in need of some direction. He seems to do well with reclamation projects. It sucks that it's his relationship with his superiors that seemed to be his downfall again. The guy's had some success in the NHL but can't put it together with the front office.
apuszczalowski Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I read somewhere he's under contract until August sometime. Can he talk with other teams before free agency? dejavu He can talk to another team if the Sabres give him permission, like they have with the Panthers to keep him in Rochester I don't know if the NHL teams view him as highly as we do here though. has he ever been a serious canidate for any team yet in the NHL?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Yeah he has done a great job with the kids, but maybe too good ... he may be seen as a guy best suited to develop talent on the farm. I am sure Tortarella, Maurice, etc. will get a call ...
shrader Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 I read somewhere he's under contract until August sometime. Can he talk with other teams before free agency? dejavu They were letting him go after an NHL job, so he can talk if the Islanders want to.
rickshaw Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Well it's official, if it wasn't already. Ted Nolan may be a good coach, but he apparently has no respect for his bosses. The pattern has been made and I highly doubt he gets another job in the NHL He's coached in the league for 3 years and had issues with the GM in both cities. He's a problem. He's done. Too bad for him, but it's obvious now why he was blackballed for so many years.
wjag Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Ted Nolan twiced dismissed. My guess is his head coaching days are over...
LabattBlue Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Ted Nolan twiced dismissed. My guess is his head coaching days are over... I agree. I'd be amazed if there was a 3rd chance for Nolan. Not next season, not 5 years from now, not 10 years from now.
nucci Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 He was fired today. http://www.cbc.ca/sports/hockey/story/2008...an.html?ref=rss
X. Benedict Posted July 14, 2008 Report Posted July 14, 2008 Ted Nolan twiced dismissed. My guess is his head coaching days are over... I'm not so sure this hurts him like his departure from Buffalo.... The Wang/Snow Islanders are already seen as pretty unconventional in terms of their management by committee style. Ted didn't do so badly playing the cards he was given.
