LabattBlue Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 No he's not. To me and you yeah, but he goes to the locker room, speaks with Lindy each day before on game days. He's usually reports starting goalies, lines, injuries quicker then anyone else. So i guess he does have some credibility. But even if he's not credible at all, who's to say Sabres even cared one bit for Orpik? They could think his game is garbage? When he starts posting under his real name, he will gain more credibility. What is the sense of posting under some nickname?

X. Benedict Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 Paul Hamilton also reported this morning on WGR that Lindy Ruff isn't a big fan of Orpik. I was never a big fan of Orpik. A big body that will throw some weight around, but breaking him down..... Not a good shot, not a good passer, not a good skater, a decent penalty killer on the back end, a good shot blocker, a very good hitter, and most of his career he has been wandering out of position. He's just not a top 4 d man.

But there is a reason why i type messages from a computer screen and drink beer on game-nights. I admit i was obviously wrong on him. Based on, nobody really wanting him, Pitt saying thats as high as they will go, "take it or leave it" deals usually include more money.... fact that Lindy and Darcy had no interest.... i was wrong. Oh well. Come on Jason Smith!! lol

Oh well. Come on Jason Smith!! lol If Buffalo would have signed him for the right price I would have been quite pleased. There has to be a little more of an edge in the defensive zone that makes teams hesitate for that fraction of a second..... But in a division that forechecks, Buffalo first of all (which requires fleeter footed d-men) and Ottawa and Montreal, I could see situations were he would have been a liability. Now if I was a team that used the Left wing lock, or trapped. Orpik would fit in quite nicely. Now Smith is a warrior, a super shot blocker, and the better penalty killer. I just wish he had a 28 yr. old body.
inkman Posted July 3, 2008 Report Posted July 3, 2008 He's just not a top 4 d man. A voise of reason amongst a sea of ignorance.
