LabattBlue Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 http://tsn.ca/nhl/story/?id=242088&lid...s=secStory_main IMO...Seems high for Gaustad.
BamBam Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 IMO...Seems high for Gaustad. WOW... That seems very high for your 3rd/4th line center. Pommer is going to CA$H in!
SabresOnTheWarpath Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 WOW... That seems very high for your 3rd/4th line center.Pommer is going to CA$H in! That is high. Looks like they're ready to play ball though
SabresFanInRochester Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Since it does seem to be on the high side, it is nice to get them done so you know how much cap space you have to work with. I am sure they have allocated certain money to Miller and Pommer and know what they can extend to our coveted d-man.
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 That is high. Looks like they're ready to play ball though At first I was a litle shocked at the money but he is still coming into his own..He is a bigger player and he is locked up for a good buck...Next
tom webster Posted June 30, 2008 Author Report Posted June 30, 2008 IMO...Seems high for Gaustad. It is a little high and it continues to be their M.O. They pay a little higher for the mid level guys, pay fairly well on the low level guys and lose out on the creme de la creme.
LabattBlue Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Considering the size of the deal, can Lindy maybe, just maybe, put a letter on his jersey next year? <_<
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Considering the size of the deal, can Lindy maybe, just maybe, put a letter on his jersey next year? <_< What do you want to jinx him?? They should ban all letters from Sabres jerseys
gregkash Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 lol they actually sign someone and all anyone here does is complain.
LabattBlue Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 I'm wondering what happened to Gaustad the warrior?? Check out his penalty minute totals in juniors and the AHL and then look at those same numbers with the Sabres. http://www.nhl.com/nhl/app?page=PlayerDeta...ge&tab=crst Don't forget what got you here Goose!
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 lol they actually sign someone and all anyone here does is complain. I did not complain for the first time in a long time...Take that back
tom webster Posted June 30, 2008 Author Report Posted June 30, 2008 lol they actually sign someone and all anyone here does is complain. FTR I am not complaining. Thought the deal was a little high, just like I think Hecht is a little high but both are offset by Roy's deal.
stenbaro Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 FTR I am not complaining. Thought the deal was a little high, just like I think Hecht is a little high but both are offset by Roy's deal. Can they announce signings at 12:01 TW?
tom webster Posted June 30, 2008 Author Report Posted June 30, 2008 Can they announce signings at 12:01 TW? One minute after noon eastern time.

I honestly can't figure out why people put so much stock in penalty minutes. Last I checked Penalties hurt your team.
Goodfella25 Posted June 30, 2008 Report Posted June 30, 2008 Gaustad is one of my favorite Sabres, but it does seem high. I'm not mad at it, just somewhat surprised. That being said, I am pleased to announce that through this signing, the relevance of my Reebok Edge Sabres jersey was extended for 4 years
ROC Sabres Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Gaustad is one of my favorite Sabres, but it does seem high. I'm not mad at it, just somewhat surprised. That being said, I am pleased to announce that through this signing, the relevance of my Reebok Edge Sabres jersey was extended for 4 years  Yea your lucky with that one. Just hoping i don't have to wear my Stafford jersey in vane.
Bmwolf21 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 What do you want to jinx him?? They should ban all letters from Sabres jerseys Or go the other way and give everyone a letter. We wouldn't want anyone's feelings hurt... lol they actually sign someone and all anyone here does is complain. Who is complaining? I see everyone discussing the deal, but I don't see anyone blasting management...
TM8-PL16 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 no complaints from me... I love it! Hopefully a few more will follow... with the price of everyone going up, why are people surprised by the numbers?
darksabre Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Excellent. Glad we don't have to worry about the Goose getting loose.
SabresFan526 Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Personally, I think it's great news. It's a little high as I figured he would get $1.5-$1.7 million during every year of his deal, but whatever. Frankly, the $2.5 million going to Gaustad is better than the $3.33 million going to Max in my opinion. And, as the cap has increased, the value of a player like Goose probably is about right. I still think it's a bit high, but I have no problem with it as Goose is a Sabre for 4 more years. And, who knows, he could maybe net 20 next year and it'd be undervalued.
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 I honestly can't figure out why people put so much stock in penalty minutes. Last I checked Penalties hurt your team. Yeah you're right. A roster of nothing but soft finesse players is the way to go.
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 lol they actually sign someone and all anyone here does is complain. Ooops...I forgot my pom poms. Way to go Darcy, way to go.
LabattBlue Posted July 1, 2008 Report Posted July 1, 2008 Or go the other way and give everyone a letter. We wouldn't want anyone's feelings hurt... :D
