Stoner Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 On a boring early-summer evening, just an idea for getting to know a little more about some of our posters' non-hockey interests... In honor of Gilbert Perreault, what's the 11th site on your list of bookmarks? No cheating... and no porn! Mine is http://www.eyeworld.org/article.php?sid=2554 Oh yeah, if your bookmark is hockey-related, give us the next non-hockey site on your list.
shrader Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 21st or 11th? Not that it matters though. I don't have anything bookmarked.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Everything in my bookmarks is organized into folders, so I couldn't tell you which is one, 17th or 119th...
Knightrider Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Everything in my bookmarks is organized into folders, so I couldn't tell you which is one, 17th or 119th... I counted the links in the folders from the top... I'm curious about why the 21st, too.
Screamin'Weasel Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 The 11th bokmark in my folder is, believe it or not: http://www.sportslogos.net/team.php?t=4 If that is considered a hockey related site, my number twelve is a tutorial for a 3d sculpting: http://www.3dtotal.com/ffa/tutorials/max/j...rc/joanmenu.asp My 21st is another 3d art webpage called Renderosity: http://www.renderosity.com/
Bmwolf21 Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I counted the links in the folders from the top... I'm curious about why the 21st, too. I've got subfolders in almost every one, so I'm not even sure where I'd start...
rbochan Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 11th: Sadly enough, the local weather page http://www.weather.com/outlook/homeandgard...den/local/13219 21st: The Encyclopedia of Chicago http://www.encyclopedia.chicagohistory.org/ dammit i AM a nerd! :death:

I've got subfolders in almost every one, so I'm not even sure where I'd start... wolf, that's a whole world of insight into your personality, brother. ;) but seriously, just open the first folder, then the first sub-folder, then the first sub-sub-folder, and so on, then just count down to the 11th link (so, if the first sub-sub-sub-folder has just 4 links, just go to the next folder in sequence until you get to 11 linkels ... no?). I counted the links in the folders from the top... as did i. and to my great delight, because there's a ton of stuff in my bookmark folders that i never, ever use (my bookmark folders are like all of the many miscellaneous junk drawers in my home), my 11th link is one that i use almost daily: http://hotchickswithdouchebags.com/ for the uninitiated, the "kid" (he's in his 20s anyway) who authors and edits the site is one of the funnier people out there in the blogosphere. per his description of the site: it's "pictures of hot chicks with total and complete douchebags. with commentary." it's the commentary portion that kills - the guy pulls in not just all manner of pop cult references, but sociological and philosophical theory as well. and he never fails to talk about the b00bies - never. I'm curious about why the 21st, too. as am i.

cdexchange Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 my 11th link is one that i use almost daily: http://hotchickswithdouchebags.com/ Along with the Onion, HCwDB is the funniest site I've ever seen. Be sure to check out the Hall Of Scrote in the left hand column. Highly recommended
X. Benedict Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I don't use bookmarks. I knew it. You are dog-earring your monitor, aren't you?
Chilly Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 I knew it. You are dog-earring your monitor, aren't you? Yup, though I seem to have to buy new monitors way more than most people...

SwampD Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 What a great thread. My new favorite website - HCwDB! I don't use bookmarks either, but living in a tidal flood zone the only two that I check with regularity are weather.com and saltwatertides.com. Let's me know if I'm going to work late because the road is flooded.

Holy mackarel. That site is hilarious. Nothing interesting on my 11th (AT&T account page) or 21st (pre-loaded dell help page) bookmarks.
That Aud Smell Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 11 = http://www.archive.org spot on - that's where i go for my fix of buffalo's own ! by way of an aside, the evans brothers (keys and drums) grew up in my neighborhood, and their dad, the great willie evans, was my middle- and high school gym teacher. the evans brothers used to play around town years ago with a fella by the name of peter prince, and a band then known as "the groove" (later known as "moonboot lover"). Along with the Onion, HCwDB is the funniest site I've ever seen. Be sure to check out the Hall Of Scrote in the left hand column. Highly recommended  don't forget to buy the book - i've demanded it for my birthday. What a great thread. My new favorite website - HCwDB! good times. good times.
nobody Posted June 25, 2008 Report Posted June 25, 2008 Interestingly, my 11th in my sports folder is twobillsdrive.com
Stoner Posted June 25, 2008 Author Report Posted June 25, 2008 Sorry about the confusion. I originally figured #21 would be random enough, then wanted to give a nod to Sabres history. Or maybe my 21st site is too embarrassing: it's where I get my yarn supplies.

I love that HCwDB site. It usually pops up on different blogs from time to time and is always good for a laugh. My favorites are the Oompa Prompa orange-faced spiked hair DB's. That peak into my personality probably doesn't show you the ongoing battle between the creative, messy side of my brain and the practical, organized side. I work in communications/public relations/journalism, so the creative side is absolutely fine with my stereotypical messy desktop full of unfiled papers, while my practical, business side wants everything organized and in its place. It's a constant battle... Anyway to play along, I'll go this way - my #11 bookmark, going from my toolbar, is Facebook. My number 21 is in a subfolder of my first folder - 1280x800 Wallpapers - PROWALLPAPERS.com.

Or maybe my 21st site is too embarrassing: it's where I get my yarn supplies. Its ok, you can admit it. You went for 21 because of your man crush on Christian Ruutuu. But anyway, I lied. I do actually have 2 bookmarks on this computer, but I almost never use them. I'll just list both since I can't do 11 or 21. The first is my work email, which I'm obviously not going to link to here. The second is this. I thought it might come in handy at some point. Sorry, its hockey related. I also had a link to a clip from South Park, but the page is now dead. It was Chef's parents talking about the loch ness monster.
