SabresFanInRochester Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I know, we hate that guy (well, Emery too, but I mean Ecklund), but this was a waive, not a rumor. I couldn't find another source to back it, but as of 12:30 supposedly.

darksabre Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I don't hate him. And I know one place he could be the backup. Wouldn't THAT be interesting...
2ForTripping Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I don't hate him. And I know one place he could be the backup. I hope you don't mean in Buffalo we don't his crazy sh*t antics
SabresFanInRochester Posted June 20, 2008 Author Report Posted June 20, 2008 Emery's issue is that he wants to be a starter. He would pull his same antics and be a distraction in Buffalo.

deluca67 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 Emery's issue is that he wants to be a starter. He would pull his same antics and be a distraction in Buffalo. Don't you want a backup who thinks he can start. If he knows he is a backup then his career is pretty much over.

Goodfella25 Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 I don't hate him. And I know one place he could be the backup. There is one big reason why that is impossible...it's $3.5 million.
nucci Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 There is one big reason why that is impossible...it's $3.5 million. I guessing if he clears waivers his price will come down.

Yeah but you can want to start and not act like a child and cause problems on the ice and off ... the guy is a major headcase.

I couldn't find another source to back it, but as of 12:30 supposedly. TSN.ca reports him and Cloutier were both waived Also Mason of the Preds was traded to the Blues for a 4th in todays draft I wonder which one of these 2 the Preds are looking for?

My guess would be neither because they just signed Ellis as their starter to a 2-year, $3.5 million deal.

Well considering how well Dan Ellis played for them last year and the fact that they just re-signed him, they're probably not after either.

ROC Sabres Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 The headline should read: Emery Still An A$$hole, and Waived or just A$$hole waived. But then we would be confused to which one, Emery,Neil and Avery.
SabreNod Posted June 20, 2008 Report Posted June 20, 2008 or just A$$hole waived. But then we would be confused to which one, Emery,Neil and Avery. You're right, that's a much better headline. Nobody writes better headlines than the Onion, by the way. My favorite of all time was the morning after Jerry Garcia died. It read: Head Dead Head Dead
FogBat Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Emery's issue is that he wants to be a starter. He would pull his same antics and be a distraction in Buffalo. I would not be surprised if he wound up going over to Europe. That's happened to plenty of washed-up NHLers who can't find a place to play. The Swiss league, perhaps?

The Swiss league, perhaps? Maybe he'll go to Rochester and serve as one of the Panthers-provided AHL veterans to help Donner and the Amerks win the Calder Cup... :chris:
evil_otto Posted June 21, 2008 Report Posted June 21, 2008 Yeah but you can want to start and not act like a child and cause problems on the ice and off ... the guy is a major headcase. If I had a crystal ball, I bet it would tell us that we'd hear a lot of bitching from Emery about how there's nothing or noone to do in Buffalo (McGahee Syndrome)... Hummer road rage on the I-190, Lindy would end up slaying him after he's late to practice for the third time.

BetweenThePipes00 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 Eklund is saying tampa might be interested in Emery ... not for nothin', but that would have been a lot more fun of Tortorella was still there...
shrader Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 And he was bought out today, so he's a free agent.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted June 23, 2008 Report Posted June 23, 2008 I think he should try that UFC/MMA thing ... he can be as nuts as he wants ...
