spndnchz Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 I'm sure he has three other surgeries lined up for this offseason, in addition to nine specialist visits, two holistic healing appointments and an acupuncture therapist consultation... Don't forget the crystal therapy, but how is he?
jimiVbaby Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 BM sorry we dont agree but no reason to run out a here..I wasnt meaning to run you oughta town... :nana:  I really have a hard time reading your posts, but here we go. Point blank: Max is not worth his salary. He's paid like a 60 to 70 point scorer, and he's nowhere consistent enough to warrant upwards of 3 million per. With Max you're not getting what you pay for. I don't care if he did "look what I found" while doing an out of control 360 and scored. As for the argument with Campbell, the dude shouldn't even sniff Phanuef money but he will. That's why he's not on the team anymore, Darcy isn't dumb.

I knew one of you guys would return to the scene of the crime... :bag:
Knightrider Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 "When he is on the ice" is the key phrase. Playing 113 games in three seasons since the lockout just isn't getting it done. It really should be a "crap or get off the pot" year for TC. Honestly I wouldn't even give him one more year - I'd find a true no.2 center, take TC into the season and hope to get something out of him as a PP specialist, see how his health holds up and look to move him. Besides, right now I'm focused on MA - but my patience is wearing thin with TC. No doubt about that. The thing I see is that he missed 3 out of his first 328 games in the NHL. The luck ought to start turning his way again.

The list could go on..However 2 yrs prior to that you did get what you paid for. I agree he should move on. I only said he wouldnt be traded for a 2nd rdr straight up..Whats so hard to read about that..
deluca67 Posted June 19, 2008 Report Posted June 19, 2008 "Running a player out of town" is a long process. Campbell wouldn't qualify as being "run out of town". The idea of Campbell leaving the Sabres really wasn't being discussed until after it was apparent that he was pricing himself out of Buffalo. That's not running him out of town. A good example of being run out of town is Kotalik. Despite his reasonable price compared to his production there seems to be a huge percentage of posters that would love to see him shipped out. This has been going on for a few years now. I also don't think Max is being "run out of town" as much as he has played his way out of town. He has given fans very little to hold on to. A spurt of games here and there and maybe a highlight reel goal now and then. Over a 82 game season most nights he is a no show or a liability. Even though $3.5 million is not a huge contract. Compared to the production and the inability of Max to keep focused for long stretches of time, the contract make him expendable. It's money that could be spent more wisely.

You are correct..I rethought my position over the night and I am wrong. It was the after the process of him pricing himself out that the slamming happened..
