Fisherman Phil Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Just a couple of questions to ed-dumb-ucate me.... 1. Are all team members of the Portland Pirates Sabres Property or are there guys who are just Portland Pirates? 2. I assume that the Pirates and any other AHL team has a training camp of sorts....Yes/no? 3. If the Sabres Prospects and/or Non-Sabre Pirates (see question above) attend the Buffalo Sabres mini-camp, wouldn't they be missing out on Pirate training camp and therefore be behind the 8 ball in progress in understanding the Pirates "system"? Fisherman Phil
Taro T Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Just a couple of questions to ed-dumb-ucate me.... 1. Fisherman Phil The Sabres will supply all players and coaches. All the Sabres prospects will start out in Sabres training camp for a brief time. They will send most of the :chris: s down early and the last few cuts will go down just before the NHL season starts. Whether in Buffalo or Portland, all the players will be in a training camp. The :chris: s' system will be whatever the Sabres want it to be, so being a top line AHL guy getting sent down late will not adversely affect their progress.
SyrSabreFan61 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Is there any possibility that the :chris: will modify their logo/color scheme?
wildcat48 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Is there any possibility that the :chris: will modify their logo/color scheme? No, the Pirates logo and colors are staying the same. The ownership group has spent a lot of money, time and effort working on this brand and it works for Portland just as the Amerks works for Rochester. The Pirates will add a Sabres patch to their jerseys.
Fisherman Phil Posted June 12, 2008 Author Report Posted June 12, 2008 Thanks Taro T! Perfect explaination..... Fisherman Phil
X. Benedict Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Is there any possibility that the :chris: will modify their logo/color scheme? I'm not sure, but one can only hope their message boards have a little Sabre smilie, like we have a :chris: smilie.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Maybe (not a shot at Fisherman Phil or anyone) we should pin an affiliate switch FAQ at the top for the next month or so, since the same questions keep coming up. Or maybe not. It's up to the mods. I'd be happy to help out with the FAQ if needed.
darksabre Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Do the Pirates even have a message board? If they do, I want to see it.
wildcat48 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 I'm not sure, but one can only hope their message boards have a little Sabre smilie, like we have a :chris: smilie. What's the Pirates message board you are referring too??
wildcat48 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Do the Pirates even have a message board? If they do, I want to see it. Most, if not all, Pirates fans use AHLfans.net as their message board. They have a strict code of conduct, but it's really a good place to talk about the Pirates and other AHL teams including Rochester.
That Aud Smell Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 They have a strict code of conduct
shrader Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 With all those :chris: jersey ideas people were throwing around a few weeks back, its disappointing that no one actually used :chris: as the logo. Speaking of that smiley, why is the tag for it "chris"? Was it always like that or has it now been named after our favorite :chris: beat reporter?
inkman Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 Speaking of that smiley, why is the tag for it "chris"? Was it always like that or has it now been named after our favorite :chris: beat reporter? It's always been that way. I asked SDS why and I got the text equivalent of a shoulder shrug. :chris:
wildcat48 Posted June 12, 2008 Report Posted June 12, 2008 This is one that we had at another board that I used until Portland joined Buffalo....
Knightrider Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 This is one that we had at another board that I used until Portland joined Buffalo.... That thing is perfect!
shrader Posted June 13, 2008 Report Posted June 13, 2008 That thing is perfect! I don't know. Stenbaro might get a little jealous over that one.
