Strow Posted June 10, 2008 Report Posted June 10, 2008 Two questions, when is it coming out and do they still make it for PS2?
ROC Sabres Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Two questions, when is it coming out and do they still make it for PS2? sept 9th and yes. Get a 360 or ps3.
Strow Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 The "wife" won't let me get a PS3 she wants a Wii and we can't get both. Sept. 9 is Madden time hard to fit in NHL.

The Wii is some type of virus. People play the bowling, tennis, etc.. at a friend's place and they love it. After buying the system, they realize there are not that many games to play on it. Yes, there are some GREAT ones. I'm a Zelda/Metroid nut so I'm going to buy the Wii for those titles. Plus, my wife likes the bowling. Still, the Wii does not have enough must plays. You should talk your wife into the PS3 or Xbox 360.
elcrusho Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Two questions, when is it coming out and do they still make it for PS2? Screw your consoles... PC destroys all :D
frisky Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 ps3 and x360 versions are almost completely different games compared to the ps2 version. They didn't really do anything to upgrade the game for 08 from 07. When I got my ps3, it was a world of difference. We have a Wii too. It definitely has some addicting games. I was skeptical at first but I got hooked. I play it equally with the ps3. It's game are just different so it adds enjoyability.
ROC Sabres Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 I'm still waiting for NHL on the Wii. That will be a game that will be alot of fun.
Guest Sloth Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 I'm still waiting for NHL on the Wii. That will be a game that will be alot of fun. I only tried it once, but Madden was TOUGH on the Wii. I'm sure it's a blast once you gain the touch of Wii control. I am going to buy a Wii. Where can you find one though? Every time I'm in Wal-Mart I don't see any for sale. Obviously it's a hot seller, considering the fact it has been out for a couple of years.

If you go to the mall somewhere you can usually find one in the gaming stores. Depending on where you live.
Strow Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 You can go to www.wiitracker.net I think it is and find a Wii online. I really want both PS3 and the Wii but can't afford either right now. I saw how you play Madden on the Wii and it looks like it would be hard no more beating the Bill 62-7 anymore on All Madden.
frisky Posted June 11, 2008 Author Report Posted June 11, 2008 The only complaint I have about the Wii is the wireless NIC that is in there. With my PS3, it connected instantly. However, no matter what I try I still haven't been able to get the Wii to connect to my wireless with any kind of security enabled. It can only do with all firewalls etc down. I spent days on it. Multiple laptops and my ps3 can with ease but not the Wii. If anyone has any tips I would appreciate them on the wireless connecting with security enabled.

A friend ordered one on amazon in the past month and got it pretty quickly. Sure, you might be able to luck out and get one quicker at a random store, but its a good option. Great, since I just recently got a PS3, I now have 3 more games to buy in the next couple months. Hopefully Metal Gear will hold me over long enough before I have to buy this and Madden. I haven't bought any of the recent versions of those 2 games, but with the new machine, its a must.
Strow Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 How about a review of the PS3 against the Wii. I know the games are totally different but is the PS3 really that good I haven't seen it at all.

If you do, then yes it does make a big difference. Playing on PS3 is visually awesome and playing Wii is physically awesome.
shrader Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Yeah, I was absolutely amazed the first time I put GTA4 in the machine. Comparing the graphics between the two machines is a waste. The Wii isn't even close. It all comes down to which types of games you want to play.

It's nice to see another Metal Gear Solid fan. That game is THE reason I'm going to buy a PS3. Yes, there are a number of other games, example being Final Fantasy XIII, I'm looking forward to playing on it, but MGS 4 is what is bringing me to the PS3. MGS 4 is the finale. That will hopefully be the only disappointment about it. Which MGS game did you guys like best? Mine would either be MGS (PS1) or MGS: Snake Eater.
inkman Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 Mine would either be MGS (PS1) or MGS: Snake Eater. I am not in favor of any man named "Snake Eater".
Guest Sloth Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 I am not in favor of any man named "Snake Eater". That's the title of the game, not the name of the character. The character's code name is "Snake." Kind of like Maverick or Goose.
apuszczalowski Posted June 11, 2008 Report Posted June 11, 2008 I bought a 360 a couple of months ago, and have Madden 08 and NHL2k7, both great games on my 52" TV in HD, eventually I will also have my PS2 hooked up to it. My girlfriend wanted the Wii, (she also wanted Rockband/Guitar Hero) and at first she didn't want me to get the 360 because she wantede the Wii, so I told here we could get the Wii too, because its a completly different kind of system. I don't compare it to the 360 or PS3 because it is not the same

Its nothing like the modern playstation games, but it was great. Snake Eater was probably the one I enjoyed the most out of the 3. The story was really well done. But yeah, I bought the PS3 because of this game too. I got it right before Grand Theft Auto came out, but this was my real reason. This and the Final Fantasy series are more than enough to keep me as a PS user. My girlfriend wanted the Wii, (she also wanted Rockband/Guitar Hero) and at first she didn't want me to get the 360 because she wantede the Wii, so I told here we could get the Wii too, because its a completly different kind of system. I don't compare it to the 360 or PS3 because it is not the same That pretty much sums it up. Yeah, they're both video game consoles, but the similarities end there.

Nintendo has taken a brand new road in the world of gaming. They have always wanted to focus on the family. Now, w/ the creative console Nintendo has created, they truly can focus on the family. In the past, most girls/women didn't care for games. The Wii has changed that. A family can have a blast on any night of the week. Nintendo made a SMART move. To be honest, I think the Wii saved their hardware portion of the market.

To be honest, I think the Wii saved their hardware portion of the market. I think that if it wasn't for the Wii, Nintendo would have gone the way of Sega and turned all their focus to just making games cause they weren't going to be able to compete with Sony or Microsoft in building a better system. Rockband and Guitar Hero have gotten both Adults and Children, Male and Female into gaming together. But when you look at those games, they are games that you would expect from the Wii. They don't use a traditional controller to play, and have you physially doing something instead of just sitting there with a controller in your hands killing things. Wii is definitly the more "family friendly" console, and one that is great for parties and when hanging out with friends. It has definitly branched off of the traditional video game systems I'm just fearfull of having one and watching a remote go through my TV, I think I'm going to make up a protective shield for the tv beore I get one, LOL

But, this is just a game, not a console. My girlfriend had a nintendo growing up and had a game cube that she used to play Mario Cart with and Mario party with friends. She has gone nuts for Guitar Hero and Rockband. I bought here Guitar Hero II and III for Valentines Day ( the reason I bought the 360) this year (I also had to get here III with the wireless epiphone guitar too) and when the copy of II I bought from e-bay came with a defective guitar (I found II on ebay and III I bought from Best Buy) she was so pissed because we couldn't play together, she ran out that night and bought Rockband, only to be slightly less disapointed because we still can't play Guitar Hero against each other cause the Rockband Guitar only works for Rockband.
