Anyone know of a site i can go to where I can get (Totally) free Sabre ring tones?

I want to avoid the 9.99 monthly fees :censored:

http://www.phonezoo.com/ is free. I'm not sure which carriers it supports, but I use Verizon and it's fine with me. Registration is free and all you have to do is pick out your carrier, phone maker, and phone model. Not all are compatible.

They have some good ringtones on there. I've only found a few RJ ones, but the beauty is you can create your own. If you have any RJ sound files (I think there are some in the Sabrespace fan archive??) you can upload them and edit to your liking.

Looks like my Verizon phone is not compatible...haven't had any luck so far. :wallbash:

can you (1) link yer phone to your pc via usb or some other syncing method? (2) use .wav files as ringtones?

if so, i have this classic in readily useable format: 40___May_Day__.wav

if not, sorry i can't help.

If you can bluetooth it, I highly recommend:

From what I read, it's the same model the Sabres use. This is what I use as my ring tone, coworkers absolutely love when I forget to put it on vibrate.

if you have Verizon and a newer phone, you can email your phone mp3 clips and save them as ringtones... I edited a bunch of mp3s and am using them as ringtones. I'm using an awesome free audio file editor I downloaded from download.com, it's called Audacity. I've emailed myself dozens of cool sounds and ringtones this way.

I know T-mobile strips the mp3 attachments so you can't send them to yourself. Bastards.

Edit: But, I just tried it using PhoneZoo and it worked. It doesn't work if you want to send it to yourself through email which is what I tried b4.

if you have an audio file editor, like I mentioned above, you could change the file type to a .wav... that could work for those situations. as long as the .wav file doesn't get stripped...

I know with verizon, you can't send them to yournumber@vtext.com (they get stripped there), you have to send them to yournumber@vzwpix.com. Maybe T-Mobile has something similar....

I have an older (2 years old) Verizon phone and I can get the ringtone in a SMS from Phonezoo, but when I save the file it saves to "My Sounds" and not "My Ringtones," and apparently Verizon blocked users from setting "My Sounds" as ringtones. :wallbash:

yeah, my friend's phone was the same way... his "new every 2" just came up so he's getting a new one this week and on the new phones you can "save as ringtone"... Hopefully you are on the "new every 2" plan also...

To me, this is by far the easiest method. It leans towards Verizon since they're bastards and make this more difficult that it needs to be. It may work with with other phones, but you generally have easier options.

  • Find a USB cable for your phone. Amazon has most for Verizon phones, other phones just use a USB cable. You're on your own on this part. :) I've heard you can do it using Bluetooth but I've never tried.
  • Go to www.bitpim.org to get 'bitpim'. It is a free tool for uploading and downloading you phone book, ringtones, pictures, etc. The docs have info on individual phones, you probably want to look your phone up to see how well it works.
  • Use bitpim to copy all the data from your phone. Oh look, you don't have to pay verizon $2/mo + data now for that service!
  • Use bitpim to convert existing MP3s or WAVs into clips. The tool they use is somewhat rudimentary but works, Audacity is better.
  • Push the data back to your phone, and power your phone off then on.

This method and software has been working for me for a few years now with my last three phones. If it blows yours up, it's not my fault. :)

Due for new phones in July or August, so we've got that going for us... :D

You could also use the Verizon Backup Assistant which is free of monthly charges if you sign up for their online account manager.

Honestly, all that is a little too much work to make The Office theme my ringtone - no offense....
