Guest Sloth Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 I don't care for the Redwings, but why should we denounce tradition? Going after Bettman is stupid, but if they want to throw the puss, let them. It would actually be funny if it him! I didn't care for the hockeytown remark on their board. They have trouble selling out western conference final games. They've lost it, where as other cities have made a legitimate bid. Buffalo was in the running, and still may be, for being known as the new hockeytown.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 Guess it goes to show that it's not just Sabres' fans who "find things to bitch about"... <_< If the Wings' fans had any, errrr...let's say "pride," they would get some help from the arena staff and sneak in an octopus anyway, then wait to throw it at Bettman while he's mugging for the cameras in the post-game trophy presentation.
darksabre Posted June 2, 2008 Report Posted June 2, 2008 hell, I'd donate to this if they did it for charity. I don't even hate bettman that much, but seeing him get socked with a puss would be hilarious regardless.

Corp000085 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 gonchar got destroyed into the backboards and less than 2 minutes later, malone takes a slapshot off the face. The pens may be leading by 1, but they're hurting bad right now
carpandean Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Less than 7 minutes to go and Detroit has erased a 2 goal deficit, then taken the lead. Will Lord Stanley's cup be skated tonight? Edit: Talbot ties it 3-3 with 34 seconds left! Edit 2: We're going to OT!!! Will we see a series (playoff) ending OT goal?!
will Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 nice shot to the head by franzen after the goal. what an insane third period. freakin' legendary effort by the wings. sweet jesis, i can't stand pee-air m'gwyer. whaddadouche.
SabresFan526 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Wow, great goal at the end by Talbot. At least the Cup is postponed at least one more period at least. By the way, is it just me or does Malkin look like Maxim Afinogenov this series? He has been a human turnover machine tonight and has been absolutely horrid this series. Guys like Hall, Dupuis, and Talbot are the guys stepping up to score and contribute on offense. But, guess who's got 2 assists tonight? Crosby. Guess who's got a goal and an assist? Hossa. The big boys are stepping up for Pittsburgh. I'm predicting right now that Malkin scores the game winner for Pittsburgh. It would only make sense after having such an awful game and awful series that Malkin scores the winner.

ofiba Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Very dangerous being that close to the cup then having to go to overtime. If the Pens win this game, it's a HUUUUUUUGE momentum shift. No doubt the Detroit players already had visions of skating with the cup in their heads. They better get this goal in OT or they'll have a whole lot to think about heading back to Pittsburgh. Sort of reminds me of the Sabres being up 3-2 with a minute to go against the Penguins in game 6. :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash: :wallbash:
darksabre Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 d4rksabre, did you hear the studio where Back to the Future was filmed burned down? :wallbash: It didn't burn down fully, thankfully. The courtyard was pretty badly damaged and the clock tower was also damaged, but hopefully repairable. I definitely heard about it though!
ThePebble19 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 wow...what a flurry of mess in front of the net. and a penalty to Zetterberg! If the game ends like this, it will be unbelieveable.
SabresFan526 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Fleury has absolutely stood on his head. He's finally showing this year why he was the #1 pick in his draft class. He has been absolutely spectacular tonight. Something I noticed is that the Wings are playing the exact same way they played when Bowman was there. It's amazing that two coaches since Bowman they are playing the exact same Left Wing Lock and Puck Possession Hockey with tons and tons of shots on goal. It's like some of the players have changed, but by and large it's the exact same hockey. The Wings just look dominating right now, but Fleury has stood up to the test. I think the longer this goes the more it favors Detroit as they look like they have more energy. Pittsburgh has got to finish this early in this next OT.
Bmwolf21 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Nice reference to the Devils-Sabres OT marathon that ended with Dave Hannan's backhander finding its way past Brodeur...

Yeah, it just seems like it will be a matter of time before the puck goes in for the Wings. Now there's a kiss of death...
mrjsbu96 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 man, you know you love this game way too much when you are willing to stay up until 12:30am on a worknight to watch two hockey teams that have nothing to do with your favorite, hometown team....and what a new respect i have for fleury..
mrjsbu96 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 Nice reference to the Devils-Sabres OT marathon that ended with Dave Hannan's backhander finding its way past Brodeur... never forget that game....was in my last year of college and we picked up tickets the day of the game even though we had an exam the next AM...we figured worst case scenario we would be home by midnight....not 4 OT's!
BetweenThePipes00 Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 One of the best games in recent memory ... let's just hope it ends on a good goal, not some garbage ... Also, and let me preface this by saying this is NOT how I feel personally, but get ready for the "great game but it was way too long, hockey has to change playoff OT to grab the casual fan" B.S. tomorrow ... of all the things they might tweak for marketing purposes, they better never change this.
spndnchz Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 I'm sooo glad I like hockey. it's like a Desperate Housewives marathon, you just don't know when it's gonna end. Fleury deserves the win no matter who want 2 win. and I can't drink 2 many more margaritas with the girls. How do you spell shifacited?

will Posted June 3, 2008 Report Posted June 3, 2008 wow. how would you like to be jiri hudler right now? sykora called it. props to him. game 6 is going to be a freaking war. i cannot wait.
