Bmwolf21 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 You've got to be kidding me. How the heck do you review that and STILL call it a good goal? :wallbash: This is 2008, for crying out loud. How does this crap keep happening? I could sort of understand it squeaking through in a tourney or league that doesn't offer video replay, but WTF is going on with hockey?
sabregoats Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 that ref should be castrated, because someone that stupid should not be allowed to procreate.
carpandean Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 That is some kind of bulls**t! I can understand missing that without review, but how could they not see it after careful review? I saw it once and knew it went in the side of the net.
Kristian Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 What a complete #%^$#!ing joke. Honestly though, if you thought the officiating in the NHL was bad, watching a few games of the world cup would make you feel blessed. Routinely, they have some unbelievably one-sided game in terms of penalties, and while they usually deal well with cheapshots you can't help but get the feeling that the ref's just aren't up to the task of officiating hockey at that level. Why, I have no idea.
will Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 yet another reason hockey will remain the joke of the four major sports in the united states.
cdexchange Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I'm speechless. How could this possibly happen with video review?
rbochan Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 that ref should be castrated, because someone that stupid should not be allowed to procreate. I don't know, I'd imagine he'd fit in pretty well with the NHL.
carpandean Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 http://www.iihf.com/channels/iihf-world-ch...Hash=1983528f7c NOTE: The IIHF formally acknowledged after the game that Koistinen's shot had, indeed, entered the side of the net and should not have counted, and the video-goal judge will not be working for the rest of the tournament.
Guest Sloth Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 http://www.iihf.com/channels/iihf-world-ch...Hash=1983528f7c  But USA still got focked and there is nothing that can be done about it. I haven't been paying attention to this tournament, but if I were in control of team USA I'd boycot the rest of the tournament. Basically, I'd be saying you fock us over we'll find a way to fock you over.

That said, when you have video goal judges, mistakes like these CANNOT happen. They just can't, it's as simple as that.
LabattBlue Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I wonder what country the video goal judge was from??
Guest Sloth Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 You would boycott the quarterfinals to protest a qualifying game (when you have already qualified)? Okay. I haven't been following the tournament so I don't if a win or a loss really mattered. So yeah, I'd say fock it. A two year old could've made the right decision on that replay. Benching a replay judge for the remainder of the tournament is bull shitt. How does that help the US? :censored:
JujuFish Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 You would boycott the quarterfinals to protest a qualifying game (when you have already qualified)? Okay. Well, if you're going to boycott something, it would make sense to do it when it matters. If they weren't already qualified, it wouldn't mean as much, would it?
Bmwolf21 Posted May 12, 2008 Report Posted May 12, 2008 I wonder what country the video goal judge was from?? My money is on France...is this the video goal judge? ;)
Guest Sloth Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 She's the one that fixed the figure skating event at the Salt Lake Winter Olympics, right? I wouldn't be surprised either. People are arguing the boycot idea I had suggested. Here's my opinion now. Team USA should not have taken the ice against Finland until the goal was ruled a no goal. The call was a complete fock up.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Come on, no matter how you slice it, it's still just a hockey game and blown calls happen all the time. And as was mentioned earlier, they were moving on in the tournament anyway. If it is THAT important, why would you boycott an elimination game? Whatever the case, I don't think the reaction when things do not go your way should be "We're taking our puck and going home."

These things happen. Especially in international play. And not to make light of a very justifiable outrage but.... refusing to take the ice would be an embarrassment to Team USA for two generations and would be remembered long after that goal is forgotten.

I stand corrected. :worthy:

Guest Sloth Posted May 15, 2008 Report Posted May 15, 2008 "Ass hoooooooole" I need to stop watching those movies in front of my 7 month old daughter. If her first word is a bad one, my wife will be pissed! In 20 years it would be funny though.
