matter2003 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Have to hear about how so and so set the NHL record for something in 1928.... ENOUGH!!! ENOUGH I SAY!!!!
wonderbread Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Well its refreshing to know that Harry doesn't only suck for Sabres games,
Goodfella25 Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Well its refreshing to know that Harry doesn't only suck for Sabres games, Oh, well according to some people on here we are "ungrateful" because we have a "hall of fame broadcaster" and as such we should ignore our opinions and just concede that Harry is wonderful.
Buffalo Wings Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 For the 20 minutes or so that I watched the game, I didn't think he was as bad as he is for the Sabres broadcasts. I still miss Jim Lorentz....
smith Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I heard him talk more in the first period of that game than the whole sabres season.

X. Benedict Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Harry is hockey's version of Vin Scully. Of course Harry is mostly just busting balls. But he is slowing down.
tom webster Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 Well its refreshing to know that Harry doesn't only suck for Sabres games, I know I am in the minority, but I like Harry. When it comes to television broadcasts, I think less is more. However, if your listening on the radio, you may want more, but therein lies the problem with simulcasts.

But it does seem like he has more energy when he is doing the Canadian feeds.
tom webster Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I actually like him as well. But it does seem like he has more energy when he is doing the Canadian feeds. I just think its partly the result of his respect for Rick. Also, as much as we all love Rick's play by play, he is far from the typical play by play man. He does a lot more of his own analysis.
theesir Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I actually found there to be very little chemistry between Rick and Harry. I remember Rick in the preseason talking about how he and HArry had spoken in the past about how great it would be to work together, but when I heard them I don't think it sounded as if Rick was enjoying it. OFTEN Harry would make a comment and Rick would for lack of a better term, ignore it. He almost seemed as if he was dismissive of Neal's comment or was annoyed that he was making them. It reminded me of Rob Ray and Mike Robettie (sp) a couple of years ago.
Peter Posted April 17, 2008 Report Posted April 17, 2008 I thought that he did a good job last night.
SCSabresFan! Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 Harry is hockey's version of Vin Scully. You sir are being too kind.
inkman Posted April 18, 2008 Report Posted April 18, 2008 You sir are being too kind. Your kid isn't. Man he's intimidating. Sign him up Darcy, it's never too early. B-)
