nfreeman Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 I wouldn't be so sure about that. You would figure that Gretzky probably played in a lot of short series in the early rounds. OK, Einstein, how about points per game? Take away the Cups and the goals and you just have an overrated set up man. very nice.
BetweenThePipes00 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Take away the Cups and the goals and you just have an overrated set up man. Well yeah, if you consider the sport's all-time leading scorer overrated .... Yeah, take away all the goals he EVER scored and Gretzky still would be the NHL's all-time leading scorer. Scary.

Scary. Take away the assists and he is just Janet Jones' husband. The guy's a hack.
Bmwolf21 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008  Take away the assists and he is just Janet Jones' husband. The guy's a hack. Take away her role in Police Academy 5 and he's just married to another faceless Hollywood B-actress.
tom webster Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008  Take away the assists and he is just Janet Jones' husband. The guy's a hack. Not to mention how he never hit anyone and had his own personal body guard and wasn't very fast on his skates, I think his brother might have been better.

Benedict Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Not to mention how he never hit anyone and had his own personal body guard and wasn't very fast on his skates, I think his brother might have been better. If Keith had Wayne's skating, touch, shot, vision, and mind for the game, he would have been just as good.
tom webster Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 If Keith had Wayne's skating, touch, shot, vision, and mind for the game, he would have been just as good. But could he have landed Janet?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 But could he have landed Janet? No way ... she is a sucker for Wayne's mullett ... Is anyone else positing just so we can get to 39?
That Aud Smell Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 If Keith had Wayne's skating, touch, shot, vision, and mind for the game, he would have been just as good. But could he have landed Janet? No way ... she is a sucker for Wayne's mullett ... Is anyone else positing just so we can get to 39? if for no other reason than to get the pic uploaded (good find - he only had that hair for a limited period of time, i think).
BetweenThePipes00 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Thanks, weird it worked in the preview for me ... Hey look, page 39!
Mike Oxhurtz Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 One more to 40!!!!!!!!!! Go Dangerous Danny, DeLuca needs you!!!!!!!!!!

Or Jean-Luc Grand Prix Grand Am, or whatever his name is?
Guest Sloth Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 I haven't been reading this thread, but I was always wondering when people were going to quit talking about "Danny Briere's two goals." Now I know it's for what appears to be a record setting thread. Go for 40 fella's! Did you guys happen to see Danny's two goals?
BetweenThePipes00 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Is that Jean-Claude Van Damme? Or Jean-Luc Grand Prix Grand Am, or whatever his name is? I don't believe so ... guess again ...
spndnchz Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 set board settings to 5 posts per page and you're up to 154 pages. I can't remember anyone with that number... highest setting and I only have 20...
apuszczalowski Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Take away her role in Police Academy 5 and he's just married to another faceless Hollywood B-actress. You could leave that movie in and it still wouldn't change anything
X. Benedict Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 You could leave that movie in and it still wouldn't change anything Your absolutely right. We should be talking Beastmaster or nothing at all.
tom webster Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 Your absolutely right. We should be talking Beastmaster or nothing at all. I have this vague memory of some awful movie featuring guys like Mitch Gaylord (I can't believe I remember that name) and other USA men's gymnastic stars.
Bmwolf21 Posted May 13, 2008 Report Posted May 13, 2008 I have this vague memory of some awful movie featuring guys like Mitch Gaylord (I can't believe I remember that name) and other USA men's gymnastic stars. Damn, how could I forget American Anthem? :wallbash: Looking at her IMDB resume, it looks like she was in A League of Their Own as a pitcher for Racine. Never noticed that...
Bmwolf21 Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 Just to stir the pot a little: Briere picks up his first point of the series tonight, notching a secondary assist on Umberger's 10th goal of the playoffs. He had 0 SOG and was EVEN in 17:02 of ice time. Philly managed just 18 SOG against the Pens.
Fighting Chicken Posted May 14, 2008 Report Posted May 14, 2008 RUMUN NDUR!!!!!!!!!!!! He was playing in the UK for the Coventry Blaze this season if I recall correctly. Every day is a school day!

He had 0 SOG and was EVEN in 17:02 of ice time. Philly managed just 18 SOG against the Pens. He just can't seem to deal with teams that have size, play physical AND force him to play in his own end consistently. Two years ago against Philly in the playoff, they tried to play physical but they didn't have the horses to skate with the Sabres and force Briere to backcheck and fight through the neutral zone. He can still be a good PP weapon, but ... he's just limited by his size. i bring this up not to rip the guy (since I have defended him overall on this thread) but to point out that perhaps one reason the Sabres made no effort to bring him back was because they figured they would have Roy around a while, and you can only get away with so many little guys. (Which is also one of the reasons I am skeptical about Gerbe ... might be a good player someday but I don't think you can win big with mutiple Briere/Roy/Gerbe types on the same team ... )
