Page #22, c'mon 23!!!

23? No problem. I think we can easily push this to 26-27 before the puck drops tomorrow night.

Alright, this thread seems to have hit a speed bump, so I'll get it started again.

Danny Briere is the reason gas prices are rising.

He is also to blame for the subprime lending problem.

And global warming.

Discuss.

Everythings better in 3-D

Great! I'm ready for the rest of the show.

I have never once even come CLOSE to comparing him in any way to Miro. Miro was and always will be a d*ck. Briere is a good guy, and I've always thought that. But Briere is not worth what he's getting paid, period. And Roy is a better player anyway.

So, do I have this right?

I will always like Miro & Danny. Miro & I were both born on the same day, the same year, so there's no way I could ever root against him. I wish I had more of his hockey skills.

You forgot, he's also the reason why housing foreclosures have gone up through the roof.

I hate the Flyers... I'm against them 100%. This does not prevent me from being bitter about Briere leaving though.

No, that's well established. You'll continue to whine about Briere for years, and it'll probably detract from your ability to enjoy the Sabres going forward. And it'll continue to sully the board.

Danny Danny Danny!

Yes, but his +/- is awful don't you know?!?! You can't win a Stanley Cup with a bad +/-!!!! <_<

I'll help get this thread to 30 for sure if they make it to the Finals... and yet those who still hold onto their position with an iron grip

will tell us all how they are still right! A Cup win and/or Conn Smythe? We're talking 40+.

Last year they were 22-48-12. :death:

If he wins a Cup I will officially say I am wrong... I don't mind, I kinda hope he does for Danny "The Person"... Really!

We will see.

You know what BFLO's goal is? That's right, the Cup... Even if it means missing and re-tooling.

Again, we will see!

Since you are now taking my posts and examining my spelling, I'll hit you on your reading comprehension:

There you go... now read carefully.

I have had to endure all of your anti-Briere posts, as have others, and they have not been very nice, to put it mildly- all anyone has to do is review your posts and it is quite clear they are meant to intimidate.

I don't have to cite anything, for it is all here in a public forum. I'm not going to waste any more of my time trying to prove the obvious.

Sigh...yea, I saw that bit. "BY NAME". That's irrelevant. I'm saying Miro is a d*ck, and I've never said anything bad about Briere as a person. And the only thing I've ever said about Briere in a hockey context is the undeniable fact that he's an overpaid but creative forward with defensive liabilities.

For you to liken my take on Briere's value to some assumed assessment of Miro, either as a player or person, is as strange as it is useless in this "discussion".

In closing:

Danny Danny Danny!

Strangely, I find myself rooting for the Flyers against the Habs. It's not because of Briere, but because of Biron. I'm glad to see that he's beginning to prove himself to the NHL after all these years. Good for him.

Now if you'll excuse me, I'm going to go stab myself with a butcher knife for actually feeling this way.....

I know how you feel. I'm pulling for the Flyers since Briere is my favorite player in the league. My GF and I named our daughter, Briere after him. I feel dirty but I also can't get myself to turn my back on Danny Briere.

As an individual I don't like or dislike Danny. I nothing him. I hope that Marty continues to play well, since he is a good guy and was exactly the type of person any team would like to have - good with the fans, good character player, never complains.

But now Danny is just another faceless Flyer to me. I hate him for being a Flyer, but couldn't care less whether he wins a Cup or not.

Yea.

And yea about Marty too. I always liked Marty and was sad to see him go. (But I got over it: Ahem Goathead Cough)

And I'd like to add that you're one of seemingly few people who correctly use "couldn't care less". Most people say "I could care less", which of course means that they could care less than they care at that moment, i.e. they do care at least somewhat, currently.

My job requires a lot of writing, so I try to keep on top of those things. It's taken me a long time to overlook the plethora of grammatical errors, misspellings, punctuation errors and general linguistic missteps that call message boards home. My writing is far from perfect (thank God for copy editors and spell check) and I find myself editing and rewriting quite a bit, as well as spending a lot of time in my AP Style book and on various web sites looking for the right word or phrase. (I spend a lot of time HERE when working on a big project.)

One of my biggest pet peeves is the misuse of the terms "could of/would of/should of." Makes me do this :wallbash: every time I see that one...

Double negatives are confusing and most people write the way they talk.

Explains my problem to a tee!!!

What do you expect?... In this era, one is expected to do everything... I am mainly a laborer by trade... These big calloused hands have a tough time puching out on the keyboard what the crazy head is thinking! How interconnected we have all become!
