Chief Enabler Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I was never under the impression that Miro was a top 10 player in the league but it seems as if many people here are ready to put Mr. Vanish in that category. I don't like his on ice demeanor. I don't like his off ice demeanor. I don't like his interaction with his teammates. Lindy gave him the 6th most ice time this year among forwards. If you subtract PP time, he's probably closer to 9th or 10th in ice time. What does that tell you he thinks of him? thats right....spread the gospel I cant argue the 35 goals for 7 mil average, but the consistant intangible part is debatable.
stenbaro Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Good points again. I hardly noticed anything from Teppo, because from what I could see he was in position all night long and made a bunch of small, simple plays that the rest of our D seems to have forgotten about. I also didn't see any glaring turnovers tonight - not even from Lydman or Max. He played one game..He is old and fragile in hockey yrs..I didnt like it when they signed him and I will be mad again if he gets signed to a 2.6 mil contract..Bring him back at the league min and thats it..Now if you can guarantee me that he will be healthy the whole yr or 66 plus games and all the playoffs I am in but he wont he gets hurt too much..Take his money and go get a younger def....

That's not true at all. I'll accept that he is a risk at his age and with his heart condition, but saying that he is injury prone is in fact not true. Aside from the lockout shortened 1995 season where he played 42 games (a full season), he has averaged throughout his career 75 games per season. And, he has been an iron man in 5 of the seasons he is played in the NHL (not missing a game for the entire season). Call him a risky signing because of his age and heart condition, but don't make stuff up like he gets hurt too much, because that's not true at all. This is the only season he missed a tremendous amount of the season. Aside from this year, you cannot find a single season in his NHL career where he missed a substantial amount of time in his career.

I remember in the Eastern Conf final the yr we shouldve won the cup 2 yrs ago him being one of the def that kept getting hurt..So in 2 of the past 3 yrs when you needed him the most he wasnt there..My opinion, agree or not, youre not gonna change my mind on this one..39 yrs old time to move on

He did get hurt in the ECF that year. He had a bad groin injury that prevented him from playing. The very same groin injury that kept Tim Connolly out much of this year, Jochen Hecht for much of this year, Mike Ryan, Max Afinogenov and many others on this team. IT WAS NOT BECAUSE OF HIS HEART!! Look, you are entitled to your opinion, and that's fine, but it's not because of his heart problem. It was his groin that caused him problems, not his heart.

When youre 39 youre body isnt the same as it was when youre 35...I know I am 39...My knees ache from running everyday, it hurts to get out of bed sometimes..It is a problem and its why youre better players are younger..I am not comparing him to Connoly or anyone else, I would place youre money elsewhere..I never said anything about his heart..You did

I know he missed at least one of those playoff games that year after his heart started racing!

Taro T Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I know he missed at least one of those playoff games that year after his heart started racing! It was game 4 against Filly. The heart condition had nothing to do with missing any games against Carolina.
tom webster Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 It was game 4 against Filly. The heart condition had nothing to do with missing any games against Carolina. We are having the same discussion on two threads. My mistake but the point is the same.
inkman Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 I call SabreSpace Rumble!!! That's what will happen when you mix Victory Imperial Storm King Stout (@ 9.1 % alchohol) and the inkman. I think I'm still drunk...

If Teppo wants to play next year, IMO it won't be with the Sabres after they jerked him around this year.

Kristian Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 If the same people that were posting were at a game where a Sabre did that to him....they would be cheering their heads off. I understand the karma thing, but the actual guy that was hurt had nothing to do with the situation. I would cheer the hit - Pure reflex. I would also STFU as soon as I realised he was hurt, and probably clap when he got up. Had it been Chris Simon I would have laughed my ass off. There.
Claude Balls Posted April 6, 2008 Report Posted April 6, 2008 Officially a knee injury with a sore neck. But we weren't the only one's comparing it to Niel's hit on Drury.... I guess The Hockey New is circle jerking too http://www.thehockeynews.com/articles/1492...-was-clean.html That's a great article. That shot of Alfie isn't going to make him feel any better anytime soon either.
