Well here I am joining the Irish Wake for the Sabres' season.

I have to tell ya, the defensive pairings are looking pretty awesome- Sekera & Spacek, Lydman & Weber, and Talinder and... Numinen!?! They look very SOLID. So what is Teppo's status for next year? Is he coming back? I kind of hope so. I think the D looks great tonight.

VANEK SCORES!

Damn. This is about 7 games too late.

I haven't seen the Sabres play this well... this relaxed and in control... all year. Bring Teppo back and I think we got a contender, boys.

Looking at this games potential effect on standings, Bruins could end up dropping all the way to 8th spot, still think they are just happy to be there and will still have a slight let down.....

Have to say I like the ECF match ups the way they are right now.

Pens-Philly; Got real nasty last 2 games and will be interesting match up tomorrow, especially if Les habs wins tonight.

Montreal- Ottawa; Battle of Quebec....need we say more

Wash-Boston; Two pretty good defensive teams w Ovechkin edge going to Wash..

NJ-NYR; Boring deserve each other style of play fitting they play tomorrow for Home ice rights....

the rivalries and styles of play would make this an interesting first round. Now a win by Bflo and Philly shuffles this whole bottom deck...

Ottawa is in Ontario and is the capital of Canada .....

he is a cool as the other side of the pillow

Really don't want to hear Harry Neale using Stuart Scott's catchphrases...

Well, Roy and Pominville both hit the 80 point mark this year. Vanek has hit 35 goals for the season, which is also a nice even milestone. If we could get Paille to hit the 20 goal mark tonight, it would really cap the season statistically for the season. If Paille hits 20, it will give us 6 20 goal scorers. Come on Danny!!!

Good period. The Sabres look relaxed and the PP is clicking, specifically Vanek. Beautiful pass by Hecht on the first goal. Fantastic tip by Vanek on the second goal. Too bad the Bruins aren't even trying, but the Sabres have played well. Now, we're up 2-0. This has been a bad lead for the Sabres this year, let's see if they can close it out. Maybe with Teppo in there, we don't let this lead get away and we close this out.

Edit: Hecht is one point away from 50 on the season. Let's get Paille a goal with an assist from Hecht.

It was Harry's first. He came up with that around 1892.

Yep. Thomas Vanish...until the games are meaningless. I hate Thomas Vanek.

Funny, I had the same reaction. The "Meaningless-Game" All-Star.

Was the other side of the pillow really cool in the 1800's? I mean it was what, straw-filled, right?

Teppo looks great. No wonder they signed him again for 2 million. I hope he comes back next year.

BTW, I scanned through the posts and was surprised not to see someone saying Teppo should be given a rest for the third period, being so old and all :D

Are you saying Vanek is the next Miro Satan? Vanek's goal celebrations are nowhere near as good as Satan's. But, now I'm not ready to give that distinction to Vanek just yet. I still hope that this contract was not a complete loss.

As I have stated before, God made Vanek in Satan's image.

further back than that, I am sure you have all heard of the " The Stone of Scone".

That's not fair. He was one of the higest scoring players in league all the way from all star break.

And had just a handful of points down the stretch when his team needed him most.

Did you see that hit on Weber...

How's he not hurt???

Boy if that was me, I'd be broken or dead... He went in to the boards chin first...
