Bigthuder1636 Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 to know that even if the Sabres had won last night they still wouldnt have been able to make the playoffs anyway. Philly and Boston both won tonight.

Hawerchuk Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 What does this loss do to Ottawa now? Boston clinched a spot tonight, 2-1 win.
Bigthuder1636 Posted April 5, 2008 Author Report Posted April 5, 2008 What does this loss do to Ottawa now? Boston clinched a spot tonight, 2-1 win. Because Carolina lost tonight Ottawa is in. If Washington beats Florida tomorrow, who beat Carolina tonight, they are in. If they lose Carolina is in.

kingcongkorab Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 Ottawa clinched when Carolina lost. All thats left is whether its Carolina or Washington Carolina really choked down the stretch. They had a 7 point lead I think after they beat the Sabres at home in March and let that slip away. They do have the injury excuse-losing RB was tough for them. I think Cam Ward has lost a bit of his luster- hasn't really been sharp of late.

I have not been impressed with Ward outside the Canes' 05-06 playoff run, when he got hot and the Canes' rode his hot streak into the finals. Since then his numbers have been most unimpressive: 2006-07 - 60 GP, 30-21-6, 2.93, .897, 2 SO 2007-08 - 68 GP, 37-24-5, 2.73, .905, 4 SO.

The expression on Labia-ellette's face tonight was priceless. Losing at home to Florida in must win game. I wonder if he is on the hot seat (assuming they don't make the playoffs this year).
chuck schick Posted April 5, 2008 Report Posted April 5, 2008 GOOD! DIE 'CANES DIE!! Just checked my Yahoo! e-mail and had one from "Canes Connect" trying to sell me tickets for tonight's game, which was Fan Appreciation Night. (I bought tickets through Ticketmaster on Carolina's site for the March 8th Sabres game) I take solace in picturing those jack-a's going home disappointed after how cocky they were after beating us last month. Every one basically treated that win as locking up the division title and with it a #3 seed.
