bob_sauve28 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 No reason Boston cannot lose their remaining games. But can the Sabres win theirs. Yes
X. Benedict Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 No reason Boston cannot lose their remaining games. But can the Sabres win theirs. Boston vs. NJ, Ottawa, Buffalo That wouldn't be a miracle to lose out.
darksabre Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 I could see Ottawa throwing their game against boston just to screw us.
carpandean Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 What people fail to realize is that the only thing that changed vs. the best possible outcome today is that now only one of Boston's losses can come it OT. Before tonight, they had to lose all their games and couldn't get any more than two of those in OT. Now, they still need to lose all their remaining games, but only one can be in OT. Would have rather won it in regulation, but a win in OT is definitely not worthless. Edit: ok, I type slow, maybe people did realize by the time that I finished :)

SwampD Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Boston vs. NJ, Ottawa, Buffalo That wouldn't be a miracle to lose out. the real miracle will be Buff vs. Tor, Mont, Bos

Jävə Keith Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 The WGR550.com audio doesn't seem to be working for me. It is my only lifeline to Buffalo - I live in Annapolis, MD now and have to listen to all the games online. I'm dying to hear the post game. Is anyone else having this problem or is it just me? Let's go Buff-a-lo!!!!! There is always HOPE! What a story we are writing!....
carpandean Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 There is also Philly - they have Pens - NJ - Pens left. Of course, there are the other teams and we need two of Boston and them to meet certain criteria. What I meant is that the only thing that changed vs. winning in regulation is that if Boston is going to be one of the two, then they now can only get one OT loss, not two as they lose out. Changes very little. Rangers lost, we won, which are the two biggest things that we needed today.

Bmwolf21 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Mad Max tonight - 0 pts, -1, 1 SOG, 2 giveaways, and 7:36 of ice time. Just throwing it out there.
will Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 things i learned tonight: 1 - mike weber is more willing to hit than any sabre d-man in recent history. 2 - hank will never ever hit anyone ever again for the remainder of his nhl career...and i don't remember when he ever did. 3 - sekera has an absolute bomb of a shot when he uncorks it. good accuracy, too. he picked that corner perfectly. first time in a long time that a buffalo shot from the blue line was actually on net. 4 - this team, as is, can apparently turn on the heat when they have to. it's just too bad they waited until there were only 120 ticks left on the regulation timer. they should have come out balls to the wall at the start of the second at least. 5 - if the bruins make the playoffs, they have some great goaltending that could do some damage. 6 - jack edwards is thee single worst call guy for any nhl franchise...including those pokes in carolina, nashville, and the ATL. edit: alright, maybe he's not as bad as those d-bag homers in nashville.
SabresFan526 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 This is BS!! I'm watching the game, and then all of a sudden my wife decides to start streaming a movie on the Internet. So, she's now hogging all of the bandwidth and I completely miss Sekera's OT winner. Damn! Oh well, we got a win, but boy, we still have to win out and hope that everyone else loses from here on out. We're still in it, but only by a thread. We need some losers coming in the next week, and Buffalo cannot be one of them.
carpandean Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Mad Max tonight - 0 pts, -1, 1 SOG, 2 giveaways, and 7:36 of ice time. Just throwing it out there. But he skated the puck from the red line to goal crease all by himself before on of those giveaways. That was impressive.

How great was it to see Weber make a big hit to keep the play going and then Sekera wire that shot?!
Jävə Keith Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 That could be our top blue line pair next year (barring a big off season vet aquisition)
JohnRobertEichel Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 That could be our top blue line pair next year (barring a big off season vet aquisition) Seriously...WTF happened to Lydman-Tallinder???
wjag Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 2 goals, both from Defense men... Hmm.. a trend?
wjag Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Seriously...WTF happened to Lydman-Tallinder??? They are not very popular on this board... I think they are still the #1 pair heading into next season.. On the last home game of the season, DTV let the whole post game show be seen. First time ever.. I think they must be getting wind that I am calling them CRAPTV..

Bmwolf21 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 Roby made a good point in the postgame - it says a lot that Lindy picked the kids to start overtime...
Bmwolf21 Posted March 31, 2008 Report Posted March 31, 2008 if you watch the game on 627 they always have the post game on. I don't think that's true if you're out of the area and don't subscribe to the RSN's...I have center ice, live in Cleveland and without the RSN package, only get to see whatever postgame show Center Ice allows before cutting the feed.
