Bmwolf21 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Even though I read this thread this morning and thought "oh, a 6:00 game" I just realized that the game starts in like 45 minutes. I've been working on other stuff all day and now my schedule is off a little. Damn, gotta run and get some dinner before the opening faceoff...
SabresFan526 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Here it is. This game will determine if the Sabres will play on to Tuesday. Thomas Vanek predicted this team will be in the top 8. Well, show us you're right. This is the Sabres most important game of the year thus far. I want to see Thomas Vanek show up tonight and be a big difference maker scoring some goals. I want to see the PP get a goal. I want to see Steve Bernier show that he can play with pain and do something. All he's had is the Nashville game, but nothing else. It's time for the guys who are supposed to step up to step up and effin man up. If you don't want to play tonight, in the most important game of the season, then maybe you shouldn't be wearing Blue and Gold. Let's see the guys who are supposed to be our stars like Vanek, Max, Kotalik, Bernier, Roy, and Pominville step it up and carry this team on to Tuesday night. Here's the season on the line, let's see what these guys are made of. My hunch, we get a win tonight, but I would not be surprised if these guys pack it in and go home either. Or, they go up two goals in the third only to see another furious rally by Boston to end their season. I just hope I see the team that destroyed Nashville, Carolina twice, Atlanta, and others this season than the one that has no heart and can't hold on to a lead or the one that shoots directly at the Bruins crest on Tim Thomas, or the one that hits 12 posts.
Team Strike Force Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 They'll lose tonight, and then score 20 goals over the last 3 games.
wjag Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 4 minute Buffalo PP SHG 2 on 1... eww Buffalo: Boston:
Team Strike Force Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Wow, what a crappy start. Tar and feather!
stenbaro Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Wow, what a crappy start. Tar and feather! We still havent figured out how to play defense when we are on the powerplay..lol..MAybe if we played our defenseman it would help..Or maybe not with this crew

Team Strike Force Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Kotalik continues to be an idiot. I'm going to watch Davidson upset Kansas.
stenbaro Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Kotalik continues to be an idiot. I'm going to watch Davidson upset Kansas. What is team strike force? Curious mind wants to know
wjag Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 back to back to back penalties... Boston, Buffalo, Boston...
wjag Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Buffalo PP Lydman on a perfect feed from Gaustad Buffalo:  Boston:
deluca67 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Kotalik with a brilliant play.... So you will ignore another horrible pass by Max and yet another soft goal in a must win game by Miller. Kotalik was going to the open ice for a scoring chance. It's not his fault Max can't pass to save his life or Miller can't stop the softest of shots.
Team Strike Force Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 What is team strike force? Curious mind wants to know I'm a "Simpsons" nut. In the episode where the Shelbyville kids steal the Springfield lemon tree, Bart leads a legion of Springfield kids into Shelbyville to get it back. They split up into 3 teams. Bart and Milhouse are Omega team. Todd Flanders and Data are Team Strike Force. Nelson and Martin are Team Discovery Channel. For some reason, I always thought that was funny.
awill29 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Even though they just tied it, I still don't think we'll win this game. This is the type of game where you need a vet in the worst way. Before the game, Neale asked Rayzor about the locker room, and Rayzor said it was dead quiet because no one knew what to say. They've come out flat and the crowd's not into it. I'll be surprised if we win this game.

Too early to be giving up on the game..
carpandean Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 the crowd's not into it. Great, maybe they'll think they're playing away. They seem to play better on the road.

I was talking about the penalty..LOL..Nice try..I expect nothing less from max..wasnt gonna waste the energy on him but if it makes u feel better...Dammit MAX!!!!!!

SabresFan526 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 Weird period. Absolutely no one came back on Boston's PK goal, but man Miller has got to make that save. It even hit him. There is no excuse for giving up that goal. Nice to see Lydman get us back in the game with a PP goal. Weird and even period. But we can't play even. We need to dominate the Bruins and win in regulation. No ifs ands or buts about it. We must win and that, too in regulation, otherwise the season is finished. Come one guys, man up and show what you're made of and get this win.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 30, 2008 Report Posted March 30, 2008 1st Period Thoughts - --I just checked NHL.com to see if Max and Miller got an assist on Ward's goal. Nothing yet, but I think they really should give Max an assist before the night is over. I mean come on, right? That was a beautiful pass to spring that 2-on-1. --On the subject of Max: he is quickly cementing his status as the undisputed leading philanthropist on the Sabres. Seriously, Max - WTF? Also enjoyed the needless icing late in the period. Glad to see your head's in the game... <_< --I'm not even mad about a bad goal by Miller anymore. The only way to look at it without wanting to throw something at the TV is to look at anything he gives us at this point as a bonus. I think he has hit the wall physically and mentally and I'd be shocked if he doesn't collapse at some point over the next few days. --Our PP sucks. Absolutely, positively sucks. Did anyone see any single shot from the point make it through and hit the net? (EDIT: I started this post after the 4-minute man-advantage debacle and of course, Goose sets up Lydman's PPG as I am typing. The point still stands about our piss-poor ability to get shots through from the point, though.) --Kotalik - awesome, buddy. Didn't learn your lesson the other night, huh? Another frigging lazy-ass penalty at a bad time. What kind of idiot are you? --The deflection by Vanek at the end of the first PP was the earliest I've heard his name called in some time. Seriously.
