Bmwolf21 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Wow. So crappy Miller stops 2/3 and the crappy Sabres shooters score more than one SO goal, and it equals a win. Funny how both parts of the SO have to work together to get a W, isn't it?

X. Benedict Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Whats that? That's right. I guess we keep watching.
darksabre Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Dammit! Just let this season die already!
wjag Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Goose gets a tying goal late. Gerber 3rd star Roy 2nd star Fisher 1st star Just a great road win... On to Montreal...
Doohicksie Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Meh. I will say, I'm liking the tandem of Sekera and Weber more and more. They did make a few mistakes tonight, but they are still learning the craft and are both, in my mind, top-4 NHL D-men. Without a couple of soft goals by Miller this game never goes to OT though.

Funny how both parts of the SO have to work together to get a W, isn't it? I know your being sarcastic but that is it. You have to be able to stop em and you have to score. So far this year I think it was a horrible combination of nothing working in our favor fortuitously the hockey gods have smiled upon us. However it is a bittersweet victory as we didn't gain any ground at all.
SabresFan526 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 It doesn't matter how you win, as long as you get the two points. We at least keep pace with the Bruins. Great effort tonight. Gaustad looked like Drury scoring that game tying clutch goal. Great job by our superstars tonight, that's right our superstars are Pominville and Roy and lead the team in scoring and give us a huge win. I loved the way Miller finally came way out of the net to challenge the shooters on the shootout, which he has not done as much this year. Big big win. Now, we need to win against Toronto. Just keep it going.

R_Dudley Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Any other time enjoy the win for a little but since were on life support here.... whose in goal tomorrow at Home ? Time for T-Bo .....
spndnchz Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I'm out of town for a week and look what happens! playoffs shmayoffs, F$CK you Ottawa!!!!!!!! 2 points more than losin'

IMHO, we have to beat Boston twice in regulation to have any shot, but we also have to hope the crappy teams the Caps are playing can beat them, as I think they are going to be passing Boston before we will...

Ok so we only need 3 other D men, Spacek is worthy of staying. I am liking Weber more and more each day
matter2003 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Without a couple of soft goals by Miller this game never goes to OT though. I think Miller should be renamed "Mr. Softee" for his play this year...
VABeachSabresFanatic Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Gooooooose! The Caps tied their game up with a few minutes left - Buffalo definitely needs the win here. How about some late game/ OT heroics to spark a winning streak to save the season? Roy, Roy, Roy! Maybe they can build on this tomorrow night and against the B's? By the way, for both Boston-Buffalo games, the Bruins will have a game the day before and will have to travel, but the Sabres have a day off before each game.
wjag Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 I think Miller should be renamed "Mr. Softee" for his play this year... He was there when we needed it most. I'm happy he stoned Alfie tonight. Maybe we can get our mojo back from him..
R_Dudley Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 That's right. I guess we keep watching. Just when I think I can get out they pull me back In!
Bmwolf21 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Hey that makes sense, you got any coaching experience ? No, but I did stay at a Holiday Inn Express once. I know your being sarcastic but that is it. You have to be able to stop em and you have to score. So far this year I think it was a horrible combination of nothing working in our favor fortuitously the hockey gods have smiled upon us. However it is a bittersweet victory as we didn't gain any ground at all. Yeah that's what I meant. I mean really - Miller has struggled in the SO, no doubt. But the shooters have struggled just as much (actually worse if you look at the numbers) and when 1/2 of the equation has been even somewhat on, the other half has been nowhere to be found. Kind of the story of our whole season...defense plays well but the offense doesn't score. Offense scores a couple, goaltending struggles. Offense and goaltending are good, defense takes the night off.
Bmwolf21 Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 He was there when we needed it most. I'm happy he stoned Alfie tonight. Maybe we can get our mojo back from him.. I posted earlier that I thought he was done. What do I know? Maybe he's trying to show me up or piss me off, but at least he's trying to fight through and trying to help get his team into the playoffs. Whether he's got enough juice left in the tank to do so remains to be seen, but he's fighting to the end, and I guess that's all we can ask of any of these guys over the next five days - just go down swinging.
jrsarkov Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 We won. love it. Miller needs to be better. yes, he stopped 2/3 in the SO- i am not complaining. but, tomorrow we need a better performance from him or it will end up 6-2 again or whatever.

Weber seems to be pretty good with the puck for a big guy.
