RayFinkle Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 Someone with some skills needs to create a Thomas Vanish avatar.
shrader Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 -I guess Ottawa didn't get the memo to shoot high on Miller in the shootout. He came out much further than he has been all season. They weren't going to find much up high because of it. Sabres got beat a lot tonight on the Ottawa dump in. I hate to break up all the Weber man love around here, but he's the one getting beat to the corner most of the time. Luckily he's young and his skating will improve, but its something to keep an eye on. He kept his position though and didn't let speedy guys like Donovan get too far past him though, so that much is good.

I still think it's a good pairing though.
Doohicksie Posted March 28, 2008 Report Posted March 28, 2008 In my mind, Sekera and Weber are a tandem. Yes, Weber has his faults. Yes, so does Sekera. But they play into each other very well... the way we used to think Talinder & Lydman did.

Tallinder/Loods play similar styles - both more finesse, more offensively-minded, neither is particularly physical, whereas with Sekera/Weber you have one being more offensive-minded and one more defensive-minded; one is more physical and likely to block shots, while the other is a much better skater and more likely to jump into the rush, etc. I think Sekera and Weber play off each others' strengths very well and it should be fun watching them grow up in the B&G.
